  1. I had a great day, probably cos I had a moment of good sense and brought some sarnies and a flask. Food at these shows is always horrible and prices take the piss. Drove down from Yorkshire, came buttock clenchingly close to overheating in the three miles of first gear on the dual carriageway outside, but got in ok. It's the first time I've joined you guys on an OSF club stand, and I have to say I was made to feel really welcome by those I chatted to. Particular thanks to Tom sebringRS and posse for looking after my gear while I was out on track. Everyone was helpful and friendly and I had some good chats (over the sound of the funfair). Managed not to dump it in the gravel at brooklands in front of an audience, avoided anything hard fast and made of metal out on track, picked up some goodies at the autojumble and made it back up the M1 in time for a bath and a beer. Happy days. cheers lads
  2. I just got my tickets for ford fair track time and one of the rules is that any kind of video equipment is not allowed. I was wondering if anyone had tried in car filming in previous years, how keen the marshalls are about it, what the logic is behind it etc. It's my first time at ford fair and it would be great to have a souvenir of a few laps of the Silverstone GP circuit, but I don't want to get kicked out for trying if they are a bit keen over it. I emailed FF admin and they replied with a rather blunt 'no video equipment is allowed, thanks' (total message, no explanation). I have a proper roll cage pro clamp attached, so there's no chance of loose gear but they weren't interested. Anyone got any previous experiences?
  3. Good pics mate, thanks for organising the meet - it was a good day out with some great motors. Potentially better than scotch corner as a venue; plenty of space to grow, cheap cafe on site and ten miles further south (that last one might not appeal to the NE boys n girls though).
  4. At one point I'd say there were at least 50 fords at the services ranging from old stuff, which was most of us from the Leeds convoy, to a herd of focuses (foci?) and a group of lads from Newcastle in caterhams. Decent meet though, plenty to see ranging from 1950s (a nice consul capri) to present. Worth the run up the A1.
  5. Sounds like a plan, I'll make one in.
  6. I should be ok for this weekend- haven't been to the last few, but I'll be there Sunday all being well.
  7. If you have photoshop, you could try getting a photo of the car and click image>adjustments>desaturate, which makes it black and white, then filter>stylise>find edges. Its a quick way to a rough and ready outline which you could then print and try out a few marker pens on. Another way is to click image>adjust>hue saturation and move the hue slider. Works great on a coloured car, not so good on a black, white or grey one. Worth a try.
  8. Top set of pics mate, a good meet; great weather and plenty of variety. Nice One. Glad the Black Dog sounded good.
  9. Classic Ford Show on the 31st so it could be a smaller turnout that day- I'll be there for the one after all being well. I passed that flaming Beetle the other evening on the M1 jn40 roundabout getting a tow behind a van; felt his pain as we all do, hope it's back up and running by now. Anyone from the yorkshire meet going to classic ford? i'm the matt black mk2 escort 4dr
  10. Top meet guys, cracking weather helped too for my first time at an OSF meet. Good to see so many cool cars in one place so close to home, and I got plenty of inspiration for more tinkering about with the black dog. Hope to be in on the next one. Remember; if it ain't broke, don't leave it alone, start pissing about with it until it is.
  11. I'm hoping to come along this saturday, I'm not far away- see you there, John
