When I had my MK2 XR2 I did not come on to this forum looking for advice or to show it off nor would I want to, I saved that for somewhere else. I have my 105e on here because it is catered for here. That is the way I like it. This site has always had a strict policy on what is allowed and what is not. That is part of the DNA of oldskoolford and what gives this site it's unique identity. Why would you try and join a club that dose not cater for your car? I wouldn't log on to a capri only site and moan they haven't got an Anglia room? Don't get me wrong I love 80's fords that's what I was raised on I've had more mk1 mk2 fiestas and mk3 mk4 escorts than you shake a stick at. So could there not be a newskoolford sister site? With its own club stand next to oldskoolford at shows. Just my own opinion.

2000e gear set in a 1200 Anglia gearbox case is the best was to do it. You keep the original gear stick position, get the 2000e ratios and it fits straight in. The 2000e gearbox will fit in but is just slightly to big and you need to widen the tunnel slightly with a hammer or it knocks and drives you mad. You also need a modified gearbox crossmember. You can then use a woller remote to move the gearstick back to a more convertable location.

Great photos! My Dad and Uncle used to race against Barry Willmot and John Russell in Super Saloons. They were also friends with Mick and Stuart of the 'police' banger crew, of which the first picture of this thread may well be of. A mate used to know the farmers Son too, was it Simon??? I think he drove a red Lancia Intergrale? I lived in Coney Hall at the time. May have seen you guys around. There were three sons I think Simon was one, I knew the youngest, Andy. I lived in Coney hall too, in Gates green road. Where were you?

Sadly that's gone too. Had a few good nights in there. Used to race remote control stock cars there too before I was old enough to drive. Used to know the son of the owner of layhams farm and raced my mates round there in our xr2/xr3is but sadly never had the chance to race there properly.

The manor?

A few shots from layhams farm race track (Croydon Motorsport) from back in the early 80's when my uncle used to take me. Sadly the track closed in 2007. The black MK2 escort was driven by John Russell and was running a an all alloy 2.0L BDG.

Nah it's the plasic toy car ford made to match your baseball cap. Don't think much of the car but the black paint was nice!
