Hi Darren, sorry mate hadn't been back on. He's doing great bud, he's a dad now! A little girl called Olivia. Has meant that the Escort is under wraps for a while, but he hopes to be out with it again soon.

Indeed mate, he totally adored his N/A Cossie too, so to say that the duratec is that much better is really saying something. I do know he does secretly pine for the cossie look in his engine bay still though

Big thread revival here, but just wanted to point out that cossie matt's duratec is still superb. 9th overall and 3rd in class at the tour of caerwent rally is fairly solid evidence.

It's been a year so thought I'd better do a quick update really Basically, the car is very much nearing completion now, with just a few jobs left to do. Engine is built and in (not run yet though), cooling system all but finished, new front brakes are all plumbed in and bled, just need to put new bearings etc in my GRP4 hubs and that's the front all complete. Taking my leaf springs down to Gartrac tomorrow for decambering, then I just have to convert the front struts to 2 1/4 adjustable platform to get the desired ride height. After that I can at least get her back on the road and use it!! Other jobs can then be done over time. Hopefully be at some of the shows this summer with a bit of luck

Well the good news is that my rods are finally back, and I can get down to building the engine. Bad news is that I now don't have many free weekends to do it! Bit of a pain when your brother is getting married.

Cheers Ian! I have called P4P again today and he has my rods back!! Will balance them tomorrow then I'll get them back, after that we'll be putting the engine back together!
