the wheels that i have bought are 8 inch with offset et 0.they will eventually be on me mk2 with alloy arches so should have plenty of clearence. but like vista says i am not sure if i will have to use spacers to clear front suspention but i will be useing 2 1/4 coilovers so maybe ok . cant wait to try them but have got alot of work to do yet . cheers

i have tried in all gears and it is the same. i dont think it is the input shaft as it all felt good and both ends of the shafts were turning before fitting as for the selecter forks i dont know .will have to get the gearbox off and check it out. is it easier to take engine and box out in1 or will i be as well just takeing the box out i hav a pit so i think it is possible. cheers redge

oh yes she will start in gear with the clutch up that makes me think the clutch is stuck .cheers

hi have recenly changed the gearbox on the mk1 escort to a straight cut 2000e but now i can start the car and put into gear and nothiing seems to engage it as the hydraulic clutch mexico type with the two clips and a d shaped spacer in between the clutch fork and the thrust bearing carrier. i am thinking that something as come adrift inside as it seems like the clutch is stuck in and wont disengadge. i bought the gearbox second hand it all feels good so i dont think its owt to do with that .as anyone experienced anything like this. cheers redge
