the man said no turbos or gas though . I'd just use a 200ish bhp fwd vauxhall XE and a standard astra gearbox with a quaffie atb diff . I'd use 48mm carbs too keep it simple and cheap instead of all the injection shite which costs a fortune . Gut the shell and fit all the lightweight panels , plastic windows , etc , hoosier slicks and hit the 12's no sweat . Also the car would have a proper oldskool soundtrack with the XE barking through 48mm webers exactly what i'm thinking of, the corsa is turbo'd, i want to keep it simple and a sleeper. Interesting you say the XE lump, i thought the 2.0l 8 v lump was just as tuneable and less weight. I don't care about top speed just qtrs. Its not going to be a daily driver so i'm looking at gutting the shell. Mk1gaz £8000! is that the kind of money i'm looking at? I could buy a skyline gtr for that. lol

I'm new here and on a mission. lol What kind of money would i need for engine, management etc to run 12 sec qtrs in a fwd I remember years ago seeing a H.P.E car, well hearing it first of course.lol. Awesome. no turbo or nitrous 12sec qtrs i think it was Coming from rs ownership and seeing 400bhp cossies struggling to get good 12's, i've never forgotten this little beast. I guess a lot is down to the setup of the car, suspension etc tc, but i want to run 12's in a fiesta, can it be done? what spec (roughly) and at what cost?
