hi all, i bought a 1600 xflow auto engine + box i have now got rid of the auto box and was converting the engine to run a manual g/box.... now im having nightmares finding a flywheel...it seems the end of the crank seems to be different to all normal xflow cranks..... just wondered if anyone else has ever encountered this issue before & if so what did u do to solve it? heres a pic of myn.... heres a pic of what most xflow cranks are like.... any help will be very welcome...cheers cjay

i think ur getting ur self into a cuffufle here .lol basicly u need a xflow flywheel + matching starter motor then use a sierra 7.5inch 23splind clutch with pressure plate job done have a gander at this, some of it is relevent 2 u.... http://www.retro-rides.org/wiki/Type%20 ... rsion.ashx

dont think flywheel will fit? just clutch + pressure plate

u starter motor is very much dependant on what flywheel ur gonna fit? as pre ingaged xflow flywheels a quite rare i think? also u wont need a propshaft the one u have will fit fine.. clutch plate needs to be the 23spline early sierra type.7.5" slso u`ll need to drill a hole in bulkhead + a wee bit of tube for the clutch cable..

if not get some off a mk3 fiesta as there the same as capri, and if mk1 escort have the same thread on the track rod then these sould fit.

i think from memory u can use bog standard mk1 rod ends. aslong as ur rack is deffo mk1?

im not more than 5 miles away from southam but dont wanna really give my location away i have a tawny brown mk1 awaiting resto with lotus rims and it looks very nice ......

i used to see this driving around my town all the time a few years back. was in better shape back then.. glad it went to a good home
