  1. Anybody confirm for me? I think, using 1100 rods with pre x/flow pistons will do it, but the pistons may need shaving a couple of mm to fit perfect. Im buying a 1500gt head tomorrow, owner thinks the chambers are around 30+cc but can't check as there are no valves. If the pre x/flow pistons are 41.65mm height against the x/flow 44.75 then the 1100 rods will make the difference up plus more which is why the pistons will need shaving. will give me a nice light piston and as such a nice revvy engine if anybody can help me out here
  2. Howdo. I'm looking into a pre x/flow conversion on my 1300 x/flow. I have no clue on what combination of parts to use to keep a reasonable compression ratio. I am aware that there are 1300 pre x/flow engines somewhere that had been used in cortinas, anybody got the internals? i have some 1100 rods which work out 4.85mm longer than my 1300 rods. I want to try do this without having any machining done on my block to keep costs down, i'm on a tight budget. I'll need around 33cc's of combustion chamber to keep around 11.1 CR with a 1330 engine. any help will be appreciated, I know of a 1500gt head nearby and also been offered a 997 head off here. ta Kee
  3. how big could you go with liners in?
  4. i think they can be machined for cam but would need pushrod tubes doing too. definately the ultimate pushrod engine that is.
  5. could these be the basis of a true 200bhp n/a crossflow? combined with a good alloy head and masses of capacity there potential, definately. anybody got the lottery numbers for this weekend?
  6. seems they may have got the numbers mixed up and not replaced the 'we are doing a 2.0l block' with a 'we are no longer doing a 2.0l block but are doing a lotus block' i want to know how thick those walls are too

  19. some piccies from me, trev you need to update your sig
  20. watch those wheel for catching on the rear passenger side arch when you lower it, sort the panhard rod so it won't as i needed a new arch welding in after running those wheels does look good on them though
  21. i recently collect a couple at once, i'm not particularly strong and i could lift a complete bottom end, with oil , on my own, out the car and about 30 metres to the house. it's just getting hold of it comfortably. my mate give me a hand with a complete engine after that, had clutch, flywheel and inlet on, plus oil again. that wasn't as easy only sore things where my hands the day after. 2 days later i decided they where to go into my cellar, which i did myself, only 2 bottom ends though, i tell you this, a block is muc easier to lift when empty, took me about 20 mins to get the complete bottom end down
  22. looks great what manifold is that? looks quite beefy
  23. i'd check before you do it. lotus steels are way off the fiesta offset. would look good tho i bet, just watch those arches
