  1. Auto box, loads of extras. Could be a "barnfind" if you want to describe recent lack of use. Interested? Call 07950253764 for full details.
  2. I was refered to www.vannin.com by a member on the www.67-72chevytruck.com website and have already found some interesting stuff that should fall right into the interest of the likes of some members on here....... Starting innocently enough after wanting a van forever, it has blossomed and become a bit of a beast and a legend in its own lunchtime. Click the link to take a look, hope you like it. http://www.vannin.com/threads/ubbthreads.php/topics/608059#Post608059 He started with this 1978 Chevy van..... Can you say BANDED WHEELS ??
  3. Just been reading a bit and got stuck on one of the race liveries most often copied. Gulf Oil Corporation WIKIPEDIA Says.... Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from the 1900s to the 1980s. The eighth-largest American manufacturing company in 1941 and the ninth-largest in 1979, Gulf Oil was one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies. Prior to its merger with Standard Oil of California, Gulf was one of the chief instruments of the legendary Mellon family fortune; both Gulf and Mellon Financial had their headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Gulf's former headquarters, originally referred to as "the Gulf Building" (now the Gulf Tower office condos), is an art-deco skyscraper. The tallest building in Pittsburgh until 1970, when it was eclipsed by the U.S. Steel Tower, it is capped by a step pyramid structure several stories high. Until the late 1970s, the entire top was illuminated, changing color with changes in barometric pressure to provide a weather indicator that could be seen for many miles. Gulf Oil Corporation (GOC) ceased to exist as an independent company in 1985, when it merged with Standard Oil of California (SOCAL), with both re-branding as Chevron in the USA. Retail stations in Canada were acquired by Ultramar the same year.[1] However, the Gulf brand name and a number of the constituent business divisions of GOC survived. Gulf has experienced a significant revival since 1990, emerging as a flexible network of allied business interests based on partnerships, franchises and agencies. Small pic for a small car..... ;D http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa102/oldbus64/Anhaenger%202007/1310014.jpg
  4. Thanks guys. I made some more detailed videos as well with my new camera..... oooppps, wrong setting, so will need to do it again.
  5. Weekend bump...... Come tell me what you want to pay for this car.
  6. Thanks Guys. Now I just need to find a buyer for the van. In the mean time for those who do not know its history...... Photoshop of how it was meant to end up in Sinclair Oil Corporation colours. Some more bad photoshops And a wild flight of fantasy.
  7. Took the Transit up to the farm today and had Jon record a few clips so that I can add them to the For Sale thread. Had some good laughs. This is my favourite clip I suspect. Another clip, just in the cab on the way home. This thing is happy to run at 20mph in third and then just goes if you accelerate. Then another couple of passes on the farm. Last one..... Happy finish.

  9. Thanks mate. I guess we both like quirky and slightly off centre. I think the pickup truck we want will be slightly quirky in the UK too.
  10. Here you have "Myrtle" a 1956 Ford Anglia 100E with coveted 3 Bar Grille. Still on her Original Number Plate, which has been valued quite highly by Registration plate traders. Chrome is in Excellent condition. The car belongs to my wife and is her baby. Bought for her as a gift some years ago. We also have an imported ex-German Fire tender, 1963 Ford Taunus Transit van with 1800cc Zetec engine that will be for sale. Both cars being sold to make space in the garage and to finance the purchase of an early 60's Chevy C10 Pickup Truck to tow our Teardrop caravan with, to shows etc. The car is in good original condition. Starts, stops, drives as expected. Head lights, Brake lights, indicators, hooter, handbrake, windscreen wipers, all work. It still has the original rubber mat as well, we were going to add carpets, then realized originality was preferred. Being a Pre-1960 car, she no longer needs a MOT test to be done and also benefits from FREE Road tax and low classic insurance rates. I have made two short YouTube video clips, linked below, to help you decide if you want to come take a look and start kicking tyres. A mug of tea, some biccies and the attention of 3 cats are also on offer. More photos available by request, but I recommend an inspection in person. Probably and ideal starter classic, or good base for something more impressive. The car has been extensively Waxoyled into every nook and cranny, with excess wiped away on flat paint surfaces. Being 57 years old, she has some small scars, and a bit of rust in the C-Pillar, see Video. Contact us to arrange a viewing should you be interested in buying this car at the price advertised. Alternately, contact us for more info. Please do go look at Ebay, and various forums and for sale sites to get an idea of the value of these little cars. This car is far from perfect, but a very good example of a Ford Anglia 100E Myrtle is currently SORN'd as she is a summer girl. YOUTUBE LINKS BELOW. Please PM me for details, or comments. Some photos. Happy owner. That 3 bar grille and registration number. Nice rear !! No Airbags...... Engine bay. Boot.... Clean. Out to play...... (1963 Taunus Transit Bus for sale as well with 1800cc Zetec motivation) Any further questions, please PM me.
  11. Thank you. Now just have to pull my finger out and get it written up
  12. Follow on after advice from many..... Would this clip be enough for you to want to see more if you were in the market for a 100E ?? Today I went out with Myrtle the 56 Ford Anglia over to the farm to make a short video clip of her to be added to the for sale thread, as people had mentioned the first one was too short. Here she is on YouTube. Cheers.
  13. Improved clip uploaded. Today I went out with Myrtle the 56 Ford Anglia over to the farm to make a short video clip of her to be added to the for sale thread, as people had mentioned the first one was too short. Here she is on YouTube. Cheers.
  14. Thanks guys, I think I need to upgrade the video and maybe do a bit more detail as mentioned. The biggest pain is how long it takes to upload the clip.
  15. Soon to be for sale (well, as soon as I write up the For Sale ad) This car reminds me of just why we love retro's I was just wondering, would the 60 seconds in the YouTube clip above make any difference to your interest if you were looking to buy a 100E ? I still have to put together a For Sale ad, but wondered if this added to some photos would help. Thanks for adding your opinions and views.
  16. Last night was the Retro Rides Awards night for 2010. The Grizz-Pod was voted winner of the "Readers other Modifications" forum. Voted by members of www.retrorides.proboards.com The trailer has passed the 45k views mark recently, it amazes me that people still go there to look at the thread. I hope it inspires or motivates people to go out and build their own. Full build link here: http://www.retrorides.proboards.com/ind ... read=67389
  17. Just got the following pic from Scott (Jabbo) What more need I say , but he is another hero in internet land. Thanks Scott. Now I am happy. The trailer will always continue to evolve, but the build is now complete.
  18. Not just jam jars Mate.... but "Bonne Mamman" , as they are Octagonal, which helps with unscrewing when your hands are oily Austin/Taxi lights were a must, hence paying way over the odds, a mate paid 99p plus post on Ebay for a set.
  19. Well, the last couple of weeks have been filled with other stuff, like living and spending time with Nicola. This week I stole some time after hours to make up the rear vallence out of ally sheeting too, so that it fits in with the rest of the trailer. Scott (Jabbo) will be around some time to connect the right bits up , as I am not too good with it. I have laid and fitted wires to everything, including a pair of side lights, which I modified to only shine from the one side, and not the other or the top, these will be number plate lights. Those of fleet eye will note that the reflectors are upside down..... but then at night reflections do not stop just because they are upside down. It fitted the best with the space I do have. The lights you will remember were an exhorbitant impulse buy at last years Battlesbridge show and autojumble @ £15/pair. Mark (Nightmares Racing) polished all the lettering off them for me as well. These are from Austin 1100 and also London Black Cab Taxi's. Backing plate made up. All the bits laid out and ready to fit on the Old Grizz Sinclair trailer. Fitted, now just needs to be wired up the the existing harness. I am quite pleased with the way they came out, just need to see it out in the open now. Right, next stop : RETRO SHOW - Santa Pod in 2 weeks.
  20. Had to post this. Chris Squier (Teardropfocus) over in SoCal has built a seriously engineered chassis for his Teardrop, interestingly, he is towing with a Ford Focus. I just love the wheels he got though. Banded look, with chrome centre caps and trim rings.
  21. It was early days, and I would have got to building a complete caravan interior into it, glad I did not, as the van will now be lined and used as a tool as well. Not everything happens in one day over here.
  22. Thanks Mate, I am no fan of caravans, but a blow up mattress betweek the two of us in the back of the Transit did not work well..... so this is a solution, but not my faith.
  23. Intersting how one gets addicted to things. The build of this trailer had it's ups and downs. Now I find that with extra time on my hands, I am looking for stuff to do. Today we found two identical Dino's at the bootfair. 20p each...... bargain. I have been looking for ways to camouflage the base into which the poles fit for the galley, from ally Budweiser ber bottles to bits of wood etc. When I saw the first one of these, it was going to be a mascot. Then I found the 2nd one, and just knew it would be made to cover the base, with the pole going throigh the back ofit. I also varnished the exterior another coat, about no 5 I think. and did the floor of the galley and sealed it around the bottom edge with some silicone both for water and gas entry into the cabin section. Last thing I did was to open a tin of thinners and use some of it to get the glue from the Sellotape I had used along the edges where the Sikaflex went off the ally. Actually an easy job. Dino in place.
  24. Thanks guys and ladies. I am pleased it worked out for me, before Nicola could fire me up in it. We hope to be at the retro Show at Santa Pod with the Transit and trailer in a couple of weeks.
