Hello, Just looking for some comments if anyone has experience with companies that ship to Europe - in particular Denmark - as I'm looking for various bits and peices, and there is such a bigger market in England for pretty much everything Car related, (eg ebay which they dont have in Denmark) Cheers, Simon

Sweet! I was trying to choose a colour for my mk2 escort, that line-up was perfect! I'm now totally sold on Yellow. Awesome pics.

I'm still waiting for the insurance company to get back to me with a value on my car. I'm watching heaps of Mk2's on Ebay so I have a lot of backup for prices.

Burns, I never ever read any of your posts. I am always mezmerised by your avatar. Up and down.

Well, I bought this: and this: going to do it properly this time. Can't wait to get started!

Just bought a fast crossflow, watching a couple of Mk2's around the place. Might have something going by the end of the month. As gutted as I am the car was burnt out, at least they found it and i can move on. *oh, I already have a replacement runabout - one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Atos LOL for 100 notes taxed, failed MOT on 1 tyre and corroded brake pipe. The spare is good, pipes need a clean and I'm done! Still, it's embarrasing to drive. I'd rather have my primer-grey mk2 any day.

Car was found burnt out. I'm gutted, but not giving up. I'm going to make sure the next one is secure... :/

I can't find their details. Where are they?

Cheers mate I drove around Ely myself this morning, around some of the back streets + lanes out to fields, but I'm fairly sure it's down some small muddy lane in a ditch. Hopefully some walker will see it.

Nah, I haven't yet, thanks for the tip. And thanks for the help Just hoping it gets recovered - hopefully just got bogged or broke the box/diff and left it without torching.

I had my mk2 escort stolen last night from Ely, Cambridgeshire. It was a 4-door auto ghia in Primer grey. without the cibies, and the bootlid is missing the R (spells FO D) and a lot of gunk where the spoiler was glued on before. I'm really pissed about all the tools I had in the boot. I hope they never got in it and it's found I had just replaced the alternator the day before... if I'd left it they wouldn't have got down the road. Sucks.

So I've got a 4-door Mk2 Escort Ghia Auto in primer grey with a brown vinyl roof.... I do have some pics somewhere: So I'm getting some quotes for a respray, my plan is to keep the brown vinyl roof, as it's mint, and spray it a proper 70's yellow. But I can't find many Mk2's in yellow! Anyone got any good pics up somewhere of a yellow mk2? I'll post more pics as I get the work done. Engine+box might be coming out this weekend for the auto-manual conversion.

are you planning on using your osf in the ice / snow?

I'm at work, I drove the OSF in.... won't have much choice! I'll be fine until I get near home and have to drive on the last mile of country roads... :/ at least it's all flat - no ditches full of icy water! -
Cheers Everyone. Louie, I'm afraid I'm already marrying someone I'm not related to. Doesn't that exclude me from that group? Seriously, the only true 'fenlands' person I've dealt with is the land-owner (he calls himself a farmer) who wants to charge me money to park outside my garage - which he happens to own instead of me because of a Land Registry error. I'm not impressed so far, but I'm sure you can still change my mind! I'd hate for someone to meet me and thing that all Australians are attractive tanned surfers... j/k

Thanks for the welcome! I'm in Ely. Actually it's a 'village' outside ely called Queen Adelaide. As I'm from Queensland, and my parents are from Adelaide I thought it couldn't be too bad. Not very sunny though. I work in north Cambridge (science parks) so I'm down the A10 every day - I have a motorbike, which is faster in the traffic, but there's no room for a child seat. When they build that new town in the middle - Mereham - I'll have to drive or bicycle my son to childcare, then back home, then on the motorbike to work I think. Traffic is already beyond breaking point.

Hello! As mentioned, I just bought a mk2 escort. I'm an Aussie living in Cambridgeshire with the wife + kid, finally have a bit of space (though no time) for a project car, so I bought a mk2 1600 4-door (for the childseat). I still have a mk2 2-door in Australia which my dad has in his garage (his garage is bigger than my house here...) so I do know what I'm in for - FUN!!!! Anyway, this forum looks great, I have also have an MG ZT (yeah, it's a tarted up rover I know - but the handling is awesome) so I know the value of a good forum full of knowledge, I look forward to reading + contributing what little I can! Cheers, Simon
