Beautiful car ross. Real credit to ya mate. whats your opinion on mk1's wit four doors and square headlights? -
how would you get this to fit in a mk1 escort. Doesnt the pipe usually go over the rear axle.

that sounds the "BOMB" Defi investing now. Would it be easy to fit on to an escort? and will my pipe fit straight onto the 50mm inlet?

Hi guys, as you may know, the worst thing that can happen after fabricating some plates for your restoration project is the Welder doesnt Work. Well, Due to Sods 1st law of the round ones, the Mig welder packed up. So i resorted to a technique my old man taught me, which is "Oxysetoline welding with a wire hanger", Again due to Sods Second law, i couldnt find a hanger, so used the handle from a Wickes Mangolia Wall paint bucket. The welding came out a treat, but i set the Rear seat on fire, and now i need to get the bottom half of the seat refabricated. Luckily, i had a fire extinguisher in close aproximation and the damage didnt reach the part on which you sit, but instead attacked the bottom lining which was more supseptible due to its nearity to the arch. So now i need help finding somebody who can re upholster my seats. ALSO, does any body know where i can get some carpets made with a custom coloured piping, Cheers. B

GT_lenny PostPosted: Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:28 pm Post subject: looks like they're just polished , you can do it yourself but its hard tedious graft, or look in the yellow pages for local metal polishers its not cheap but they'll do a better job than most D I Y jobs Cheerss len, was just wondering because ive heard of people doing home polishing on superlites etc, but those already come quite shiney!. Hi guys, I picked these alloys up, "Lasers" is what i was told. £15 for the set on ebay! seems like a bargin to me!. I really wanted to get some revolutions, but need to save a bit of doddle before i can get those. Ive got some 165 tyres lying around, but ive been told that these alloys are 185's. I just wanted to know wether i could put the 165's on there, or would i be better off getting a new set of tyres?. The alloys are absolutley gleaming, and i think they loom beautiful! Cheers

Hi guys, Im living in the East london area, and some tossers tried steeling my mk1 escort, 1300GT. I Invested in some CCTV, A Steering wheel lock and a wheel clamp. The CCTV works a treat and can be accessed from home, abroad or anywhere were u have internet connection because its connected to a router. Very good buy. Also acts as a deterent. Ive also had the brightest bastard security light fitted so the wonkers wont get around unseen!. The kit cost me £200 with 4 cameras, one with audio and a 600GB hard drive. Definatley worrth the purchase! p.s. The amount of robbery attempts ive been hearing of, regarding classic cars is disgusting. I suggest every1 makes it in their best intrest to put security on top of their list whilst conducting their restore!

Indeed it is, site maximum is 800 x 150 pixels, can you reduce it please. Apologies guys

http://www.gumtree.com/london/06/37423306.html - Good buy for any mk1 escort estate lovers!!! - BARGIN PRICE

VERY GOOD POINT!. At the moment, Ive got the car in a garage, but the problem is its our comercial garage. SO alot of "W*n*ers" that come and get work done to their own cars can say "theres a nice motor" in that garage. But when its at home, its in the drive blocked by a shitty car. And when im home i usually leave the rottweiler and german shepherd to run around in the front garden. But these pros will go to all sorts of measures!

The cut of switch is more my thing. I seriously dont have the money to fork out on a alarm etc until my exams are over and university begins. I reckon i might invest in a steering wheel lock and stick to removing the positive wire from the battery whevener the cars in the drive!

Hi guys Im trying my best to ensure my Mk1 Escort is safe and secure but you can never be secure enough when looking at all the cars that get stolen on OSF. I was just wondering if anybody could advise me on some security options, Trackers etc, and wheres the best place to look for them. Considering im 17 and workign part time, anything with deary prices wouldnt be good. Also, As my escort is ancient, how could i fit an alarm? (No central locking etc) Help would be highly appreciated Bob
