Its the time of year where all the Cossies are off the road, but the Escort being tax exempt is taxed all year round. So weather wasnt too bad the other day so thought time for a quick drive and some piccys. The car started off as a 1300, it was bought by my wife as a wedding present. My mate sourced the car and put the stripes onto it. It originally had steel wheels, but I sourced some RS4s, added the bucket seats, front quarters and the 2 up 2 down lights. All was well until this summer when the engine decided to drop a piston, oops. Finally sourced a 1760 (rebuilt etc) crossflow, which was then installed. And this is how we are today with the car. I know its only a replica, and would also like to change to round headlights, but time will tell

Try again this time next year Been listed on other sites as Sun 4th Sept 2011. Date wrong for next year

Finally good news. Looks like I have found a 1600 cross-flow which has been built into a 1760, very little use and will be getting fitted in a few weeks. Many thanks to all for advise and offers of help. Excited now about getting my Escort on the road again

Hopefully found an engine local to me. Just got to collect and then work out how to fit an engine now

got a pinto 205 block, comes complete (single carb, ford manifold) good runner before removing.£170 Whereabouts are you mate?? Is it easy to fit?

Hi All, Sadly my MK1 Escort Mexico replica has died. It had a little 1300 engine in which has dropped a piston. I know its an ideal time to replace with maybe a 2l pinto. Is there anyone or anywhere in East Sussex that could supply and fit an engine and gearbox I am not a mechanic. What sort of cost would this be? Really want to get this on the road again as the car was a surprise wedding present from my wife!!!! Any help muchly appreciated Jason Heres a piccy my car:

You can do it online too, as long as mot and insured (obvious I know) will come in post quick too
