Thanks I had them out yesterday and warmed them with a blowlamp > when I next turned it over it tried to fire then wet the plugs again. I will have another go in a few weeks as working in London > Early start / late finish > Hopefully it will start as want to drive it soon. Cheers Malc

Hi All, I'm about to change the tyres on my Mk2 Cortina Savage current ones NCT3 / 185 x 70 x 13. the ones I am thinking on getting are either Yokohama A539's (if 70 profile available) or Nankank CX668 same profiles. Anyone using this size on MK2's ?? Ta Malc

Hi All, Looking for some tips on below. Escort Mk1 (RS2000 Engine) been sitting up my unit for about 18 months and not driven anywhere. I started it up around 3 months ago and only took 6 to 7 goes > which I thought was really good as have no choke cable fitted / coke flaps wired open. Went to start it last month and it just will not have it !!!!!! I have checked for spark and its there on all plugs / Electronic Dizzy fitted > new plugs fitted shortly before it went into unit. Thought it might be the fuel gone off > only about 1/2 gallon in tank > so went and got 5 gallons of shell V-Power. The plugs are getting wet with petrol. Timing has not been changed so same as when I drove it into my unit. I have stripped the carb and checked for blocked jets > all seem clear. Batteries fully charged and spins the engine quite quick. Apart from beating the engine with a big stick any tips on what to check next would be good. Ta in advance. Malc.

Ditto, John and Dawn have put a lot of time into these Summer shows over the years, and as always have come up with a top event. Today was no exception with a great turnout of cars with even the weather holding off until the cups had been handed out. Hope everone got home safe and sound with no added extras on there licences from the boys in blue. Looking forward to next year.

Hi i know i asked this quite a while ago but for the life of me can't find the reply. What are the connections for Ford electronc dizzy and coil fitted to crossflow i've got Brown / Green / Black at plug for dizzy end plus nothing at coil. Thanks in advance

Hi All, Got Ford dizzy and coil from a mate. Now before i wire it up can i pick your brains......... Dizzy has 3pin plug with Green / Black / Brown cables. Coil has Green to - ve and Brown to + ve connections. I assume Browns are joined together as + ve feed from ignition. Black goes to - ve (chassis earth) Green is the - ve switching of the coil. This will be fitted to Anglia 105E with 1600GT engine Wiring loom will be made to suit as stripped out at the moment. Thanks in advance Malc......................

Been working silly hours lately so had no time to post anything. Just to let you know this issue of Classic Ford has artical about my Savage Cortina XRO 919F. John Hill took photo's of it for 6 hours about 3 months ago. Hope to see some of you at the wingspan club on 6th Sept. Ta Malc.

Good day lost count of the number of cars that turned up. Had good run to and from event (well apart from nearly running into my mates anglia, too much right peddle resulting in using the middle one) Will be there next month. Don't forget the BA Wingspan Club on the 3rd Wednesday of every month as this is a bl**dy good evening and also had around 40 cars last month.

Hi, This is my first posting on osf and i'm a cortinaholic. Car is Mk2 Lotus based series one pre-crossflow Savage in blue mink. Its been off the road for 28 years, i got it 6 years ago and finally got it back on the road last year after many starts and stops due to work loads / getting fed up with it etc. Its first outing was the 2008 L2B and it was good to see so many old fords on the raod at the same time. I will be there this year. Thats all for now. Malc.
