  1. So we'll get to see the cars together sooner than we thought Al I've got a lot of polishing to do though as mine is a state compared to yours
  2. Posted on behalf of Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Short notice I know, but a mate is no longer able to go on Monday, so his track pass is up for sale.. cost him £179 + an extra £25 for a spare driver. it's going for £160... any takers? (apparently doesn't have to be a Ford on track if you don't have one) any interest, let me know.. 07979 537725 cheers, Mark.
  3. Excellent vids, loving the Anglia
  4. Cheers all Yeah, Boro area - do you know Tom & John (Fostek) then?
  5. Would have been up for this but I'm already booked on the Lakes Tour that weekend How many will be going on this one do you reckon?
  6. As it was nice last Saturday I got the Mk1 out for a bit. This is it warmed up and being given a quick wash before we set off - new back boxes fitted with rotational baffles, this is the loud setting and then out for a "fly-by" (no law breaking going on as I'm still running the car in so only revving it to 4 - 4500rpm) I just wanted to hear what it sounded like as I've got no video of it on the road or track since the rebuild
  7. Excuse the f-word in the clip After some issues with the engine (knocking out 5 & 6 big ends) and some issues with the tyres (blowing the near side rear due to rubbing under load) this is the car with the new 245/35 profile tyres down from 45's. The exhaust is blowing slightly from the collector so it's popping and banging a bit. It's only revving to 3,500 - 4,000 rpm in this clip so god know's what it will be like at 6,500
  8. Weather looks to be crap at the weekend and I've passed gritters on the roads today so I won't be bringing the car out now
  9. perhaps we should do a few more miles and a few less pints next time Get this car FINISHED !!!!!!!
  10. I'm liking that Granny as a daily driver (selling my Focus RS at the moment so maybe I should look for one ) The Capri will look superb x-packed
  11. Hey Nick, how goes it matey? It's taken me a while but well worth it Here's some before and after animations I knocked up
  12. Best get started then matey - but do it in the black I got the carbon door cards off ebay but the checker plate is just a B&Q job
  13. It was very cold and misty on the morning but positively hot in the afternoon
  14. Yeah, it's not going to be the quickest or most powerful these days but sounds superb and is a bit different although there were loads with V8's a few years back Here's an audio sample (excuse one of the lads use of the f-word to describe it ) This is when the engine was newly built so it's only revvin to 3500 rpm and the os exhaust is blowing at the collector so it's popping and banging a touch
  15. Cheers all , I am very pleased with how it's turned out Thought it was time I posted on here Jon as I joined in 2005 I'm finally getting time to do the tidying up and took these on Sunday - new seat in (finally), centre caps, door furniture and cards, checker plate. Just about there now
  16. Not the best pic but the only one I can find at the moment from the rebuild My rev counter is cowled as I did have it seperately mounted but it gives you an idea
  17. A lot of you will know the car from other boards, meets etc. It started life as a 1300XL (long before I came to own it) and was converted to run a 3.5 Rover V8 This is the car when I first bought it - painted with an emulsion brush At the end of this Retro Cars track day in Oct 2003 it bust the rear suspsension so I took it apart to have a look and ended up doing a full back to bare metal rebuild which ended up being fairly comprehensive and this is the car now after 4 years . It's still running the V8 which has been rebuilt with all new internals, road/race cam, new crank etc. and now with a Zakspeed kit and 3 piece split rims. Axle has been shortened and is running 2 piece billet shafts. and over at Croft the other weekend
  18. I'd be up for this (as long as the weather's not too nasty)
  19. I'll definitely come along to this - was going to come last time but the lack of a tyre prevented me
  20. I had a set of twin 40 Dellortos on my Mex and one of the key differences (so I beleive) is that once they are properly balanced they stay that way longer than the Webbers I think they're pretty similar performance wise but the Dellortos always seem to be a bit cheaper
