When I was 6 my much older brother had a White Mk2 Escort, i then spent the next 28 years wanting my own Mk2 and blame Classic Ford Mag for taking all my spare time and money and swapping them for my Escort.

I'll be there but not in the escort, the engine is in and just about ready, beaten by one old hose, have it on order but don't think it will be here in time. Still coming for a pint and a chat.

I hope to be there, fitting a 1700 xflow next week and hope to have it all checked and ready to roll. Still no respray so it's looking a bit rough at the moment.

Sorry guys, I tried to get there, got as far a M1 J25 exit when the clutch cable snapped, after many hours and a very funny phone call to a call centre who said my make and model was not on their system, they were trying to pass it off as a 98 S reg not a 77 S. They said but that makes it 32 years old!!!!!!!!! and? I'll have it repaired and at the next one.
