  1. is there anything to put in it and keep the column shift? I'm not bothered about period perfect but I do like the interior and need the space in the front bench for numerous kids, so dont want a stick in the middle, I just want speed and ease of fitting.
  2. I love the capri, but its too small, and the more i look at this zodiac the more I like it, I'm going to go for it, I thought the engine looked a bit small but I suppose it's just got loads of room around it, Triple Webers sounds very tempting too, goodbye poxy twin Webers! Cheers everyone, sorry to say goodbye to the capri owners, I'll be back when I can afford two cars! P.S would you say its a fair trade?
  3. I think I might leave that lump in then, I'll take a chance, I'll definitely want to be 'Quickening' it up some how, and pintos seem to be the easiest way.
  4. Hi, Someone has offered to swap my capri for a 1964 Zodiac, I don't know anything about them and was wondering if I could fit my spare 2.0 pinto into it or not, if not then I don't think I fancy it.
  5. Cheers for all the advice, I might give it a go, but to be honest, it sounds like quite a bit of trouble, and I am exactly the kind of person that will explode a car!
  6. Hi all, just wondering what is the best turbo to fit without uprating parts? I heard you can run a turbo at 9 psi without uprating anything, is this correct? thanks in advance.
  7. hi, i'm new to old cars, just bought an 81 capri ghia auto 2.0 pinto, i'm looking for tips, had a couple of problems already, nothing major, old cars seem to be really easy to fix, but had a problem starting it today, buzzing and then burning earth sleeving, took the starter motor off and something fell inside the bell housing, it must have been wedged in there preventing the engine turning, it rattles around in there now but the car works, my friend said i need to take the gearbox off and check the torque converter and flexi plate, i'm not sure how to do it and am too skint for a mechanic, and my old haynes is a bit vague, just wondering if I get whatever it is out, without checking this stuff out, will it be too much of a risk? also, does anyone know if I can fit a manual type 9 5 speed gearbox to it without too much trouble? any help appreciated. Thanks, Elwood
