  1. Definitely interested in this, although financially I'd have go for this above the classic ford show as it sounds like the two are likely to be in the same month.
  2. Excellent, thanks for the advice...might just do that! My Father-in-Law did some plumbing work at a house not so long back and saw the car in the garden - he told the guy he knew someone who might be interested in it so I got in touch a couple of days ago and bought it. The car was owned originally by the man's uncle who (apparently) used to be a bit of a speed demon and a mechanic in his time - he was known as 'Bomber' Harris. He died about 4 years ago and the nephew is just getting around to getting rid of all his stuff (scrapping it all!!!!!!!). He also opened up a massive workshop while I was there which contained a Hillman Minx, Austin A40 and some kind of 3-wheeled kit car based on a Mini. I'm going to collect the Cortina on the weekend with my car enthusiast mate who is going to take lots of money with him! I'd love to know more about the car's history, but really don't know where to start Here are the last of the pics I took anyway...the car is still in situ at the moment until I collect it at the weekend, but I'll post more pics after that.
  3. Hi all, I have recently come into possession of a 1973 Mk3 Cortina but I am really struggling to identify the model - I as wondering if any of you could help me out? I know my Fords pretty well, but even after lots of internet-trawling I'm stumped! It has a 3.1 V6 under the bonnet and there are some different aspects of the car which I think make it different from your usual Estate models, notably the small bulge in the bonnet (see pic). Is this a genuine 3.1 or is it just a collection of parts which have been put together? I'd be very grateful for any help you can give me, Cheers, Chris
