As said terranos have a problem with the 'box, not from water ingress If you use the wrong oil the additives eat away the bearings, Of course most garages use what they have in a tub and motor factors hand out boggo 80w/90 GL5. ( i discovered this after spulrging out on the expensive stuff that was wrong) I had one well a maverick one of the early non intercooler ones. was a good driving yoke and ran on veg oil 50/50 with no problems. as for being shite off road I've seen some tackle some good stuff and make it, there is definitely a difference of opinion between folk on their capability. Had I not lost my job mine would have hit the mud. Don't forget the LSD in the back as standard !!!
  2. My eventual plans for my volvo/ford half breed. 2.3 with a 16v head and a turbo or supercharger strapped on . Once moneys better just going to pick the parts up as I go along. Checking in with the local scrappies every now and again. Try asking a scrappy for cossie stuff and watch the pound signs come up in their eyes!!

  4. Definitely get down to the solicitor before you do anything. I done that and knew where I stood with what, she basically let me know what I could and couldn't do. The ones I'm fighting with have tried to pull a fly one BUT as I knew where everything stood I was quite happy to play with their games. They have threatened me with a years rent If i take them to small claims. BUT I knew it was a bluff as solicitor told me they can't change locks without notice and can't charge while denying access. They also at 1 stage gave me a week. But wasn't allowed up next day or any day during the week before 5pm. BUT I already knew because of the solicitor if any date is set for completion they cannot deny access, so I sort of on purpose said I would be up when it wasn't suitable for them so they denied me access and their date became void. Had they gave me my tools but kept everything else I would have been in a poorer position, but I knew the one thing they can't touch is tools of your trade where as I would have had a much weaker fight if the car was missing. So I was quite happy to play their games . Now I got the majority of stuff I can now have my fun
  5. I'm on the other side of things at the moment I had things in storage, but when I lost my job they changed locks before I got it emptied ( but before last rent cheque was cashed) I got some stuff but a lot of tools are missing. But as I stand I have been told to give them 14 days to return the stuff or it will be regarded as stolen and I can get police on the job and go through small claims court. In my case but I wasn't given access to remove the stuff for a year, you gave your mate plenty of time and opportunity. Keep yourself right and goto a solicitor before anything hasty is done and see what they say, I t shouldn't cost for a consultation on one hand it wasn't yours to sell on the other it could be classed as abandoned on your property, Tell the mother due to crash damage (i assume you have pics with it being on ebay) It wasn't worth £500, she probably doesn't know that bit of the story. Or offer to give them £500 after they pay you £510 for storage, recovery. In hindsight you should have just towed it to the street and phoned the DVLA
