Gutted, at a wedding way down in Somerset that weekend

There seems to be a difference in seals supplied to the above companies. Am I right in thinking they don't actually produce their own seals ? There is a similar problem on a vw forun where a guy has been selling seals for campervans, the first batch were brilliant then unannounced his supplier changed suppliers and they don't fit. These seals are generally 'universal' fit and subject to change from supplier to supplier. Possibly that's why one guy buys say a mk2 escort screen seal 2 years ago and it fits when one bought from the same supplier today may not fit. I'm about to finally change most of my original seals on my mex and to be honest i'm dreading it - the rear quarter seal profile for instance looks smooth as opposed to having a slight rib like original.... can it really be that difficult for a manufacturer to make the decision to make dedicated seals for each model that fit and look like the original ???
