Hi all, have a bit of a strange question but heres the scenario. If my mate knew of a totally knackered MK1 escort that had a tree growing thru it and is 99% sure the shell was a waste of time repairing, what value would the documents be to someone knowing that it is from a legitimate car thats just rotten to bits. I presume the official answer is that its not but I guess this sort of thing has cropped up before. Also, what is the worst condition shell that has still be salvaged and brought back to life as he may well be wrong? Thanks, jay

Hi all, Bit of a boring question but I can see that every one seems to be saying that this is a great show etc and everyone looks forward to it but is this because its a good social for those that know each other and great for getting pissed? Reason I ask is that I have a Mk1 escort thats not back on the road yet and although I would like to meet some of you, see your cars etc, I am also hoping to see loads of finished MK1's and get inspiration and knowledge from those that dont mind sharing the experience with these cars with me before I go crashing into my project blind! Thats ok then, didnt want to upset anyone, was a tricky pic to salvage to be honest so your software did quite well. I use photoshop but it still doesnt just magically do it for you, takes some playing with, well more trial and error.

she'll dent that bonnet leaning on it like that. personally i like the harris london look on mk1s, 3/4 or no front bumper, banded steels, etc, but tbh it's such a pretty shape you can do quite a variety of stuff to them. welcome! Thanks, I am gradually learning that unlike some classic cars, you can do many things and not keep it original and still be accepted. Makes the most of restoring and modifying for an old boy like me !!

Hope I am not treading on Fred Transit't toes here but couldn't help but see how well a couple of those pics could be salvaged, hope they are a bit more useful now. Just to let you know that dark images and images that dont represent the right colour can usually be salvaged but over exposed, bright images usually have to much info missing to do much with.

Its going to be tricky to salvage some of those blurred pics but the ones with colour and exposure problems may just need working on. Sounds like the camera is damaged, or at least its ability to do things in auto. Not sure what manual settings it has and thats only any good if you know some basic priciples. Its always worth learning a bit more even if the kids are getting to an age that they dis -own you for family trips etc. You can always take some more artistic shots of fords or perhaps the other half may become a little more adventurous. Dont buy a cheap camera and dont think that mega pixels are everything, its not always how many you have but also the quality of them.

Just to let you know that I have now sorted the picture hosting problem as photobucket dont seem to like nudity and that the pics are now working in the adult section of this forum.

OK, heres the next set of pics that I took but these have some nipples showing and so I have to post these in the ADULT section of this site, its somewhere down the bottom of the topics list and if you cant get access then just ask admin to grant it for you. I can see both sides of this and hate to say that the diesel route could be ok. I see some old skool fords with cosworth engines, zetec's and even Vauxhall lumps in them which is not keeping in line with the cars. But if thats ok then diesel should be too but ONLY with it being made into a positive yet unique quality for the car. chucking in a standard ford 1.8 diesel seems pointless, just go and buy an economical commuter but if the engine was modified or is from a performance diesel donor, and gives the car some very credible performance figures then I think it would have deserved some respect like the other engine transplants I mentioned earlier.

Hi all, Having recently aquired a Mk1 escort recently and joining this site I thought I would show a few pics I took at the beginning of this year. One of my past times is photography and have always enjoyed photographing cars and girls and sometimes both together. Just by chance, I was helping a model with some pics for her portfolio and decided to do a garage/workshop style shoot. I decided to use a local bodyshop in colchester and it just so happened that this Mk1 escort was in for major restoration and modifications ( I dont know who's car it is ) Since then I have my own Mk1 and now have a use for the pics so I thought I would share them with you. I hope nobody minds me posting them up and I will add more to the thread during the week. I will put the topless pics of the lovely Charli de Lu and the escort in the adult section of this site otherwise I may get into trouble !! Hope you like them.

Thanks for your points of view. Pleased that it seems to be acceptable to put the GRP wings on a classic car, goes against my initial line of thought but if it doesnt de-value my car then bubble arches on the front will be so much easier. I think I will take the advice on the rears done in metal atleast as that does make sense but might just go metal all round if I can afford it. Does anyone know from experience which make of GRP front wings with bubbles fit the best if I go that route?
