I put this in the wrong place last night so hear it is again!!!!
Hello to you all Happy New Year How sad am I not going out tonight ? Baby sitters take this p*ss this time of year!
Just joined...got a rolling shell-1972 Mexico bought it two years ago, got boxes of stuff waiting to be welded and bolted to it, and there it sits in my stupid little garage!
Cant be sure of the cars originality probably had a new shell in its time or two! although its got a type 49 metal dash pannel the other bits have been removed, the V5 says Mexico and it came with the original vin and AVO tags, old MOT's and history so it will be a 49 when I get around to starting it....
The shell isnt in bad condition, the guy I bought it from had it is his garage for the last 15 years, he intended to build it for his son, fortunatly for me his son got into Saxo's !!! It dose require a repair on the top mounts as it been patched in the past and drivers door has been filled along the bottom, one very bad thing though the previous owner welded a complete jelly mould gear box and prop tunnel in it! looks crap too big and the welding is terrible.....got a complete floor cut out of a crapped mk1 so will use this for the prop tunnel and floor sections, apart from that its sound-lucky I can weld!!
The plan is a road going car although a full on rally car it will be with I.R.S, I am seriously stuck for space and have been sinced I bought it so ive just been buying the parts as and when they come up... I have decided to go down the Cossy route just for the crack and the driffting and the tunning potential.. I have nicked the independant rear suspension idea from Central Blasting's Mk2 "JACK" so at the rear it will be turreted with the subaru Sti subframe WR1 diff and rear drive shafts and hubs, all came courstey of E-bay! all bought as seperate items and built up over the last two years and cheaper than you think! (well cheaper than atlas)
I know it wont be everyones cup of tea not have all ford parts but it will be fun to drive!
