  1. 3rd time lucky started 2 new threads by mistake. I used 2 currency converters 2050 rand is £185 + 20% vat =£222 so almost £200 mark up. I know that there has to be profit but!
  2. How can a gotech ecu be £185 in SA then jump to £450 in the UK? Sorry just complaining! Stuart
  3. Rgr Thanks
  4. Hi all, i have seen a mk2 cortina needing a home. I have photos but cannot upload them. Cheers Stuart
  5. Thanks guys, glad i kicked this one off. Its refreshing to see a good discussion these days
  6. Its all down to a peice of paper!!
  7. I agree as there are so few originals about, i will be happy with my replica. It also means i can do what i want without the shame of messing up an original.
  8. I am thinking of making a supersport replica, if i were to use one of the original major components it still is not valid as a real super sport. Now if i were rebuilding a classic aircraft as long as i use one of the major components it would be registered as the original. Even if i built the rest of the aircraft from scratch! Thought i would throw this one out for discussion.
  9. Cheers Pleased to be here
  10. Pics are some where in the loft, i will have a dig round. It was sunburst red and pretty much bog standard, first registered 1984. I bought it 1989 from my brother who had it for 2 yrs before me, I sold it 1991. Loved every minute. Had a 1.1 mk2 escort before RUC425R. It was resprayed before i got it, a light blue, again bog standard apart from some tina wheels.
  11. I previously owned one of the last MK1 XR2s to role off the line! I have always wondered what happened to it? A28PBP Now want to start the addiction again! (oh my god! U want what! was my wife's response) Nice to be here
