  1. How have i infuriated my members, its not like ive said anything he didnt say, hence the copying and pasting as to not misslead. he said the m o n d e o's and fiesta's were taking up space that could have been used by more 'interesting' metal, so does that not mean that in his opinion, the space could have been put to better use, hence, us not being in that space, hence, us being somewhere else, hence, us being moved. i copied and pasted word for word what he said, i didnt add to it, so what my members have said in reply, is what the feel based on what he said. maybe the thread title was a bit missleading, ill give you that one, i probs could/should have used a more suitable one, but in the thread, ive put no word in anyones mouth. Look at this way, would you guys on here not feel the same way if one of our members had said for instance, 'there was loads of capri's, they should'nt have had so many, that would have left more space for other, more interesting cars to get in', i have a feeling that the capri owners would think 'cheeky sods, we have as much rite to be there as anyone else' which i would totally agree with. We are all car enthusiasts, all love our cars, put a lot of time, money, and passion into them, so if someone says there not very interesting, and in a round about way, were taking up space that could have been put to better use, especially at an ALL ford meet, im sure you can see why it would get my feathers up, and my fellow SMF members. i could sort of see the point if they were all rusty old sheds, but bar two cars, out of the thirteen on our stand, all were ST models, and the two that were not ST models, were nice MK3's. As for me stating i said i chose my words carefully, i did, i dont want to go running my mouth, offending or dissrespecting anyone, and later regretting it due to me being wound up at the time. we can all say things we dont actually mean when wound up, and that can just throw fuel on the fire, which im not trying to do, as ive stated a million times now, my intent is to state that at an ALL ford meet, no one car is more important than another, and no car should take preference over another, wether its one year old, or forty years old, worth £250 or £25k, or has 50 BHP OR 500 BHP. an ALL ford meet is an ALL ford meet, for anything with a blue oval badge, ALL welcome, non taking up space, and even if you dont like a certain model, respect the fact that it has as much rite to be there as yours or anyone elses car.
  2. carefull mate, these mondy owners have no sense of humour, perhaps they should drive more fun cars I give up. Appologies to any OldSkoolFord members i may have offended, or who feel i only joined to cause trouble, this was not my intent, my intent was to get my point across that at an ALL ford meet, your attendance should be appreciated regrdless of what you drive, and you should be open minded as to what cars will be there, not be 'gutted' that cars you are not a fan of, are taking up space that cars you do like could use. Ill now return to my boring, mundane car forum, and try to find a sense of humour. Best Wishes For The Future
  3. What am i on about ?, you complaing that at an ALL FORD MEET, certain cars should take priority over others, is that to difficult for you to understand ? This isnt an old school versus new school thing, its an over opinionated person felling his/other car/s is more important than others. maybe if you wanted to see more old school, you shouldnt have attended an ALL FORD MEET, and gone to an OLD SCHOOL FORD MEET, simples
  4. you find older models quite boring, yet you have joined this site As far as i am aware, jimmyson has not joined this site
  5. perhaps you should, or ashes to ashes starts again on friday, will be a capri getting chased in that you find older models quite boring, yet you have joined this site, perhaps only to have a go at me, so arnt you the kind of person who insites trouble on forums and dont lecture me or tell me not to complain, i can do or say what i like on sunday, i got up at 0830, met at 1030 on the m62, got there for 1300 and spent £60 on fuel in my mk2 GRANADA still had a good time and saw some ace cars, was just dissapointed had tio leave at 1500 due to the parking expiringl i actually said to one of your boys on sunday 'my dad used to have one of those' but he didnt laff maybey he should drive a more exciting car, i dont know but i do know lifes too short, good luck to all Mundano owners (incl my neighbour), who knows, i may have another Mundano very soon, like i said i like emm there sound just a bit familiar except maybey an st model, mmmmmmm i dont mean any disrespect, i know how much everyone loves thier cars, was a tongue in cheek comment taken out of context i was just trying to support andy in a diffcult decision for which people on here have mainly given him shit the comment i made above re 'mondeos all getting there at 10 and taking up space' was quoting one of the lads on the day, to which i replied, 'well we should of got here earlier then' i was making a joke, aimed at a user im friends with on here, who knows me and shares my warped sense of humour scotch corner shows how big the ford scene is like ford fair or any meet/show i dont go to get in mags (although its nice if ya do ), i go cos i like cars, just older or unusual ones more hence why i go to ALL local car meets that interest me most, incl manchester classic ford club, liverpool old skool cars (which i helped set up and run), multi ford forum meets (as run by mexman [paul] with a focus ) preston hot rods and cheshire hotrods, aswell as classic ford show, ford fair, outlon park blackool all ford day and blackpool capri day i like the scene so copy and paste that on there ohh rational mod of scottish Mundano owners club see if you can take that reply out of context by moving it from an old ford forum to a new ford forum and make sure everyone is aware when you type m o n d e o it comes up mundano on here, re read your replies Mundano man this is a good example of your 'helpful and friendly' forum too and 'showing it in a good light', what with talk of petrol bombing my car etc, all on a topic started by you a moderator well done FYI im staff, not a moderator. and maybe if you have a problem with me posting up on SMF what you had said, you should have thought about how you worded your opinion, like as i said on SMF, i have thought about how i have worded mine. i dont find capri's and granadas overly interesting, and could have gave my opinion, but as obviously the capri and granada owners do find there cars intersting, and have just as much rite to be at SC as ANY other car, i wouldnt dissrespect the owners/cars by saying so, and its nice to see a wide and varied selection of cars, gets a bit boring if there all the same, so even if i dont find a certain car interesting, its nice to see something different. i posted what you had said on SMF because the people who attended have a rite to know that you are talking about them, there cars, what time they arrived, and where they should have been parked, and quite rightly, after making so much effort to attend, they dont agree with your opinion, which they are perfectly entitled not to. if your going to be honest, you have vented your anger at turning up to late to get in, and asking to be parked at the services, at the mondeos. i personally seen focus rs, cosworths, rs turbo's, other mondeo's, and lots of different cars being turned away and being asked to park in the services, and i havnt heard one complaint from them about being asked to do so, its evidently sour grapes on your behalf. 'my cossie is more important than a mondeo', 'my rs turbo is more important than a capri' etc, they just accepted they car park was full, couldnt get parked, so had to walk over from the services, and still enjoyed the day, because as most of the atendees feel, no one car is more important than other.
  6. And if i want to see a capri, i can watch minder, or only fools and horses
  7. More interesting metal ?. fortunatly not everyone who attends the Scotch Corner ALL ford meet has your narrow minded attitude towards some of the cars that attend, as i have been attending SC since 2007, and one of the early flyers clearly states ALL fords welcome. i organised the mondeos being there from a mondeos forum that i am a member of staff on. the forum is scottish based, and some of them had a 6 hour drive to Scotch Corner so decided to stay at SC Hotel staurday night, hence why they were there so early, they were not there from 10am as you state, they were, FYI, there from around 3pm saturday. another point, if you know they were there from 10am, does that indicate you were also there from 10am ?, and if that is the case, why were they not fully obliged to be there as early as anyone else ?. I find this predjadice towards the newer fords quite alarming tbh, as most people know of the meet as Scotch Corner ALL ford meet. As far as the thread starters idea of splitting it to two seperate meets, i think its a good idea, especially if SOME of the older ford owners dont want to see the newer fords. i have never heard of any of the newer ford owners complaining and not wanting to see the older fords on the other hand, at the end of the day, old to new shows the progression of FMC as a company over the years, and being ford fans, i enjoy both new and old. i also believe that the meet has now outgrown the venue, especially at the first meet of the year, as that seems to generate a lot more interest than the rest of the year, but maybe thats due to the chance of getting your car in a magazine, and not so much the love of fords, as the magazines attend the first meet of the year. Maybe this could have been avoided if the co organisers had communicated better. i found it funny that when one co organiser arrived, he was stopped by the marshalls and told where to park, they obviously didnt have any idea who he was. I personally wish the best of luck to both meets in the future, i will still attend both, as i have only missed SC three times since 2007, and genuinely enjoy looking at all fords, new and old. dont let it get to you mate, i love all fords, i drive a cortina its my only car but it doesnt mean i dont like newer fords, i can only afford one car so i choose one i really like as we all would, but i have a couple of mates with very nice mondeos and i think they are nice. i also like the new fiestas and focus, like you say all ford meet thats what i like about it you get a variety Thanks for your posative reply. as i stated, i love ALL fords, id have a garage full of them, from MK1 Escorts, to a new Focus RS, and everything in between if my finances could afford it. but seeing as im far from a rich man, have 4 kids, a wife and house to finance, im a mondy man. saying that, it is my fourth mondy, and my second second V6, so its not like im dissapointed with my car, i love it. i just find it a bit dissrespectfull that certain quaters dont show respect to ALL fords at the SC ALL ford meet, and think certain cars should get preferential treatment, i fail to see how a capri is more important than a mondeo ?. i know when andy first started SC it was a capri/older ford meet, but as i said, when i first heard of SC, and got a flyer, it clearly stated ALL FORDS WELCOME, hence, why i attended in my mondeo. it wasnt easy organising the lads bringing there mondys down from scotland, by the time some of the V6 mondy owners had spent over £100 on petrol, £50 on a room at SC, then food and drinks, it cost them over £200, and a good 12 hour round trip to go to SC, so when i see they should have been moved in preference for more important 'metal', it kind of annoyed me. a lot of time, effort, and money was involved in getting them there. i personally love SC, and love seeing EVERY car there, wether its brand spanking new, or 40 years old. i go to a lot of shows through out the year, from ford fair, to RSOC shows, and i love seeing any ford. As said, if the SC meets go there sperate ways, new and old, i will still attend both, and genuinely wish the best of luck to both meets/organisers.
