  1. Thats my Daily, could not live without something reliable and warm!
  2. fair enough its 50/50 then, get a arsey VOSA inspector at the side of the road and it will be stuck with a IVA test and tow'd away even moreso if the original vin tags / stamps are not there Cut and extended = RADICALLY ALTERED Extended with bever tail added (but not chassis extended is not classed as RADICALLY ALTERED so if it is a 2 pointer its iligal on the road on the original ID end of, might just as well be un insured ect! just depends if you ever get stoped by VOSA / police when its the wrong time of the month for them "If less than eight points are scored or a second-hand or modified chassis/frame or an altered monocoque bodyshell is used an IVA certificate will be required to register the vehicle and a “Q” prefix registration number will be allocated."
  3. If its only got 2 points its not got the original shell, if it has got the original shell/chassis its got those 5 points back even if its modified as long as it maintains most of its original design features,
  4. I am aware of this, but won't be running around like a headless chicken. At least one of my vans would only achieve a measly 2 points, yet it gets tested, insured and taxed every year, and the system is enforceable today. Insure it, test it, tax it, DRIVE! That's good enough for me! So basicly your driving a un-insured ringer then and admiting it on a public forum? bit silly no?
  5. Thats the one! joystick in the center, its also got a fader control a bit like the xr3i's used to have! its a 1988 2.0 Laser
  6. yeh i have seen, but this is deffo from the factory!
  7. It looks like they did, cable op drivers mirror and a electric pass mirror, original ford loom so no bodgeing
  8. Whats going on! never seen a capri mk3 with a electric pass door mirror? has anyone else? must be some mega rare option?
  9. They can "guess" it will then be down to the DVLA then to decide whats original and whats not
  10. Leave the original stereo there and fit a parrot kit
  11. Yes we use the chap for our trade vin tag needs Very helpfull and very good copy of the original
  12. It aint far off mate, if the DVLA and Euro iddiots get there way it wont be long! and you cant tell me you own a moded old car and know nothing of the impending doom? PS Its 1 year away from them stoping you moding new cars! This is the current "rules" not strictly inforced but soon when you go for a MOT the mot tester will be asked to put if the car is modified or not, if they select Yes one day very soon VOSA will want to inspect the car! If you build an extensively modified car based on one that's already registered it may be classed as a RADICALLY ALTERED VEHICLE This covers vehicles which are substantially altered from their original specification, but which are not kit conversions. In these cases the vehicle components used from the original vehicle will be given a numerical value and, in order to retain the original registration mark the vehicle must score eight or more points. If less than eight points are scored or a second-hand or modified chassis/frame or an altered monocoque bodyshell is used an IVA certificate will be required to register the vehicle and a “Q” prefix registration number will be allocated. The following values will be allocated to the major components used: • Chassis or bodyshell – monocoque (original or new)*........5 • Suspension (front & back)............................................2 • Axles (both)...............................................................2 • Transmission..............................................................2 • Steering assembly.......................................................2 • Engine.......................................................................1 *Direct replacement from the manufacturers
  13. Just remember it shows a Bad trend! 10 years from now if its not standard it wont be legal on the road, You OSF'ers need to remember that! The people behind these mags and at cruises back in the day did a lot to keep the modified world alive! half the companys about now that sell old skool parts have been kept alive by the plastic world! It was a good mag back in the day 10 years ago when the Cruise world was huge! how ever much plastic tat there was at cruises was made up for by the "Built in a shed" road rockets that were there, I even got shed of the cruise in the mag on 3 occasions with a "retro" mk1 fezza and mk4 Scort, They did say my paint was shit brown at reading cruise though lol them were the days
  14. Well you just said it all! must be a nutter! Dam good job getting the engine out of it if he is that mad he might have scraped it lol, a lotus with those miles and owners must be worth 35-45k restored
  15. Sorry but your frined must be some sort of total iddiot? a 4000 mile escort twincam prob with 1 or 2 owners???, and he strips it sells the engine cos he needs a shell????? Something aint right there or some one is shot in the head
