Yeah mate, they are shite.
Sold me the Mex as a genuine car but it ended up being a re-shelled rotter.
I was wet behind the ears and was none the wiser until the MOT tester stuck a crow bar throught the footwells. He had a go at welding up the footwells but there was nothing to weld them to.
A bitumin and rotten metal sandwich for a floor.
They built the car up for me, where do I start.......
Engine with floating cam seals (lots of oil everywhere)
Toasted coil
Engine fan fowling radiator
Misaligned prop with knackered centre bearing
Knackered engine mount rubbers
4 speed box held into auto tunnel with Sierra crossmember with two bolts instead of four
No strengthening washers in the floor
Front tyres both had slow punctures
Spare tyre punctured
Two different headlamps.
Wiper motor failed within a week
Loose door strikers
Different locks on each door, key only opens driver door
Heater/blower non operative
They did replace the engine with one that had..........floating cam seals!!!
Payed 3.5k for it and that was seven years ago which was just right for a pukka Mex at that time.
Rose tinted specs and all that and fell for all the bullshit.
A very valuable lesson learned.
Nice car now though, took a while and a few quid, it deserved saving, needless to say i have never set foot in the place since.
