Bloody typical as that was the one thing I didnt do!!! lol. Am got the dash removed and can get behind it as can see the cable surround and the nylon clip but couldnt get it off nomatter what I tried (except pushing the clip together!). So am assuming then once the nylon clip is pushed together the inner cable will just pop out? It doesnt need unscrewing or anything daft like that? Thanks for the reply and shall resume business tomorrow!

I got my car cover from a company called Hamiltons off the Internet. Was very reasonable as was £120 (Although mine is garaged so didnt want an outdoor cover) but would suggest you check out the website and have a look as after searching the web I found Hamiltons very reasonable and teh cover i think is great quality.

Any of you fine fellow OSF owners can help me please .... Am removing the dash from my Mk.3 Capri and all was going well however can't undo the speedo cable from the rear of the rear of the clocks !!! Aaargghh. Anyone know how it comes out i.e. screw out, pull out, etc. tried twisting it by the nylon surround, pushing it, pulling it but im damned if I can figure it out hence, please help!!

Thanks bud, will just take the bulb/s to my local factors as/when i have taken em out and fingers crossed, all will work out fine! Though knowing my luck .... NOT! lol Oh, liking the granada pic mate!

Thanks chaps for the replies, much appreciated. Yep me too still a bit bewildered however im getting the impression that it's a 'jump first' scenario!!! My only question is ... has anyone any idea if I will be able to pick up similar bulbs at my local car parts store/halfords, etc or are they sort of 'specialist'? I'm just thinking of pulling my lady to bits (Capri! ) and if possible take the bulbs with me then make a comparison! As/when/if I do I shall try to make a note of how, although dont expect pics as im not that great with computers either!! lol.

Cheers mate. Bare with me as i'm a bit dim (Forgive the pun! lol) but do these slot straight in or do I replace the bulb holder for a different one? I havent got the dash, etc out yet so havent been able to look hence why asking probably such a stoopid question! Also, do you happen to know if can use these bulbs for teh clock, etc? Sorry to be a pain, just trying to get sorted before start pulling to bits so am ready to rock & roll without having to wait for bits, etc. My lady is white with red stripe and im fitting white dials so the next question .. which colour?! lol. Am thinking possibly red! How do yours look?

Yep me too watching The Professionals ... I forgot how good it was. All that sideways action in a Capri 3 litre sport and RS2000! hmm. Although think my diving over bonnet, etc days are a bit behind me though as my beer belly gets in the way! lol

Not long got my Capri mk.3 2.8i (A-reg) and am looking to brighten the lights on the dash and centre console up as i've read on some great posts that they are notoriously dull (which mine are!). Ive read the post last month about removing the blue caps and using Alu tape (wherever I can get that from, Halfords or somewhere hopefully!). Anyway, may sound silly but any ideas where I can get the bulbs I need and I assume they are a particular fitment, but what fitment are they? . Also am looking to change the ford radio for something more upto date. Are old ford radios the same size as standard modern items or are mods required? I was also considering buying the Capri Club centre console in order to fit a non-standard radio but have no idea if this will work? Any help is greatly appreciated as its apparent with the wealth of knowledge on this site someone will have done all that I am looking to do!!!! Anyway, great site & great topics. Long live Old Skool Fords!!!
