  1. All taken care now, thanks to Simon!
  2. Great, june issue coming soon, but I havent got my may issue yet! Is there somekind of problem in sending them to Finland, as they usually come 2 weeks late, and now its almost a month late? And I know one other subscriber from here, and he hasnt got his either.. I send email to the myfavouritemagazines but no one bothered to answer
  3. Lets see when the new issue hits Finland, maybe in few days I hope!
  4. when I sold it, the next owner drove it for a while, then broke it to pieces to get better price. Local Ford dealer managers husband bought the body, and it was professionally build to a rally car. If I had the money, I would buy it http://www.rally24.com/rally-cars-for-s ... -2730.html
  5. and scanned them to my computer. Here are some of the old fords that I´ve had in the past. Some I really regret selling, but having a house, wife and kids forced me to have one at a time.. This I had in the 90´s, was a 1300 ´74 This I had in the same time, 1300 Sport ´73 here is another mk1 Sport too, it was early sport with tachometer on top of the dash. It also had factory bubbles! This one was really badly rotten, its a 1300 ´74 It was welded and it got engine and power line from a 1600 sport, here it is after rebuild It is now rebuild again, to a historical rally car, but it is not mine anymore This was a really nice car, originally a 2.0S v6, converted to a 3,0 Then had a Taunus 1.6 automatic, only 75K kilometers on clock And a Transit mk1 of course, now owned by a friend of mine. So, there´s a part of the old fords that I´ve had. I will post pics if I find more, I have had 3 mk2 escort sports too..
  6. Beautiful car! love the colour... what engine?
  7. I have done that to a s i e r r a. Very nice engine, good torque and response. If I had that sort of engine, I would put it into old skool ford. dare to be different!
  8. I´ve always loved the shape of a mk1 Escort. I remember dreaming of owning one since I was maybe 7 or 8 years old I found some old magazines from seventies and there were pics of mk1 Zakspeed escorts etc.. So, when I was 18 and had my license, I bought one, it was a 1300 ´74, onyx green and imported to Finland from Norway! Christ it was bad! It was so rotten, that your shoes were soaking wet when ever it rained, and if you lifted the carpets you could see the road But, I loved it and I think I´ve ever driven so much sideways than I used to do with it. It ended up in the ditch wheels up, but I repaired it back to road. And of course the mk1 Cortina, now I own one. My dad use to have one, it was light blue with matt black bonnet and checkered mud flaps And it had 1500 engine with forged pistons and a rally cam, it was fast back then. I have tried to locate it, but unfortunately it seems to be long gone, Finnish trafic agency does not have any info about it with its license plate, so it must have been scrapped ages ago.
  9. As in the twincams, rectangular, not seen so often!
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I will enjoy the forum!
  11. Hi, I have been away from classic euro-Ford scene for 5 years, and deeply regretted selling my mexico replica the whole time. Last week I bought a mk1 Cortina from a member nick "Tuomas", originally a 1500 Deluxe. I really enjoy that car, my dads first car was a 1965 Cortina 1500 Deluxe and I have always listened his stories from "the good old days" when there was no speedlimits in Finland.. He had his ´tina engine rebuilt with forged racing pistons and hi-lift cam etc.. a bit unusual in Finland back in the early seventies to a street driven car. So, he was very happy when I bought one too. I think I wont let him drive it though I had my cortina MOTd on monday, it passed at the first try. There was a slight gap at the lower ball joint and I bought a new one from ebay. This year its going to run its 1600 X-Flow, but maybe in the future a zetec and type9 and with rack and pinion. Allthough I really like X-Flows too, I am a bit confused what to do. There is a pre-airflow 1200 for sale at the price 1300€ half a mile from where I live, maybe that would be a better target to do bigger mods as it needs more done anyways. If only I had more money At the moment I am modifiying a Gt Cortina centre console to fit with Taunus gear box. Sorry not able to put links yet, but with a bit detective work one can find the pics through my profile. I have had in the past 3 escort mk1 1300 sports, 2 escort mk2 1600 sports and one 1600 GIL (finnish Ford dealer special version, only couple of hundred made), Capri II 2,0S (converted afterwards to 3,0 engine) and a bit over year ago my wife made her dream come true and bought a 1966 Mustang from California. Its a 3.3 litre six-banger wth C4. Its now having a full engine rebuild Thats me, basically being a Ford man all my life, we have had fords as a daily driver for ever too. -Ville
  12. Hi, just dropped in to say I am the new owner of Tuomas´s Cortina. I´ll try to keep it in good nick. I have also had all sorts of classic fords, few mk1 escort sports, few mk2 escort sports, mk2 Capri 3,0 and now finally a mk1 Cortina. -Ville
