Hi guys, im after some help......
I have gasket paper, i have the sealent......all i need now is a template/stencil for an english axle diff
I know i could go and order one from Burtons or somewhere but why wait when the diff could be in today!!!
ive been told stencils are on the internet somewhere i just cant find them....any one in the know??
Cheers guys
Yer it was the £40 jobby. Not the best in the world but cheap so u get wat you pay for really, quaiffe one is much better quality and doesn't rattle and vibrate so much so may have to invest!
Pip- that lsd would go down a real treat, i may indeed have to ask very nicely!!!!
I wouldn't call a lead foot off the lights street racing as such....more like practise starts for the pod
Who wouldn't if you've got a 1.1 next to you 4's up thinking they stand a chance cos "its an old banger!" (term used by the four hoodies next to me in the halfords special corsa!!! hahahaha)
Its a tad over 180bhp but i reckon a bit of playing with it and it could be past 190bhp! just needs a slipper and descent gearbox, not that that will have any affect on power figures of course....
oh yea its needs to go on a serious diet as well! too much stuff in it!
Well the long awaited first outing for the car that has been in the garage for the past twelve months took place last night....
However there were a few problems....its got enough power to spin up in second even without giving it death! Result = I need new boots already! the odd pre-stage burnout and practise starts probably added to that!
It also accelerates so visciously that it shot the screws out of the centre console and it ended up in my lap! Self tapers required i think!! Was quite amusing driving with all the electric switches on me clutch foot!
We also broke the rally design quickshift gearlever! Doh! Resulted in having to pull away in second gear alot!
Another slight issue was the clutch cable getting melted by the exhaust manifold...any suggestions for a solution to this would be helpful and welcome..
Other than that, was spot on engine wise....big thanks to 2.1joe and Mr Ashton!
Col come join us next time and watch your babies sticking it to the plastic not so fantastic!
Pip i gather that is subtle hint to say "when can i have a go!" Classic Ford Show sound like a plan...?
Big Thanks to Colin and Joe for the car! Top Boys.....
Colin remember to sticker it up with the Team Ashton gear ready for the pod!
The car would have been done and ready a long time ago had we not been let down by our exhaust manufacturer....
All sorted now though!
im doing the same thing....should, i shouldn't!
Now ive got a nice bit of power on the go i think i shud look to invest!
Health and Safety could be my excuse!
Personally i would be looking at Tran-X as ive been told they drive better on the roads. Open to advice though!!
cheers guys!!! next job is the full on works respray! did it the wrong way round really but heyho.....did a clarkson and got a bit obessed with the word "POWER!"
Watch this space for some picture updates and some videos of the hooligan going!!
