  1. Hi all, I'm desperate, and I mean DESPERATE for a rad for a Sierra shaped P100 1.8td rad. I've found a few places online that 'say' they have them, then when you call they just don't. I have got a mate that is going to have a go at brazing it, but it's super knackered, and I really don't have the time, especially because I must have the truck running for next weekend! Everything has gone in it to try and help but it's shagged. Any help would be REALLY appreciated! Cheers
  2. Hi all, So the waste gate on my 1.8td P100 (Sierra front) is stuck, and not too sure if the actuator is working. Taking the old turbo off to see may be more hazardous than I'd like as the bolts and all seem to be untouched from 1991. I'd like a working backup for when I break this one which will inevitably happen. So if anyone has a turbo from an old ford diesel kicking about I'd very much appreciate knowing about it please! Cheers
  3. I never saw this reply!!! gutted, bet it's not in the shed still huh?
  4. OK, so I really couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of sorting out the wheels, so, I found some slots on fleabay. They're on now, but have had a whore of a time as the fronts had been carved about so they had 60 degree seating angle in the holes instead of the norm so had clearly had incorrect nuts in them at some point. The backs weren't much better, but once I reamed the holes to eleven sixteenths I could get some wolfrace nuts for 'em. Had to put spacers on the 13" fronts as the 4 pot princess calipers will rub the inside of the wheel, so gotta change 'em out for the original twin pots which is bloody annoying as I literally have about 15 miles on the asbestos pads that I put in a little while ago I've put longer studs on the front to accomodate the spacers, but getting serious wheel wobble still so think they have to go. Bloody annoying though. Anyway, fixed the running problem (fingers crossed) with another idle valve, and a fresh battery.
  5. Cheers people! I haven't had much time to spend on the wheels yet, so I think they may have to wait until the end of the month. Had a little got at them with a flapper wheel on my drill to see about polishing up the dish. Don't think it's going to happen, so unless I go white on the dish and black on the centre it'll be a solid gloss black. What do you reckon?
  6. Hey people, It's been a little while since I posted, thought I'd show what I've been up to. Got the bronze and flakey capri all sprayed up now, Had the wheels acid dipped, so prepping them ready for spraying now too.. Slowly getting there! I did get some chrome roof gutter trim from east kent customs I think and it's pap. Too big, untidy ends, and a bugger to bend over the rear quarter. Does anyone have any of the proper ones from a Mk2?
  7. Dunno if this is any good for you, just stumbled over it... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bumper-Rubber-Str ... 697wt_1110
  8. hey people! Any idea if Mk3 Cortina bumpers would fit a Mk3 Capri? Both are 67 inches wide I believe, so it would all be down to any curve I would think. Would be great to have some feedback, really looking for chrome bumpers y'see and Cortina affairs look considerably cheaper than a lot of other stuff I've seen. Cheers people!
  9. Thanks for the welcomes guys! Mk2 Mike, you out Norwich way then?
  10. Oh and with the pinto engine, we've gone for a sierra injection, K&N filters, 2.8 discs at the front and he's done a couple of other little bits too!
  11. Hey people how the hell are ya? I'm now going in to my first Capri, it's an '83 2ltr Mk3 and I'm very excited about it! It belongs to the Mrs' old man so he's happy it's staying in the family! So far we've freed off the brakes (it's been stood for a fair while), got the engine going well and now it's just welding a could of little plates on the underside of the offside sill (this weekend hopefully) and then it's off to the MOT chap! Long term plans are giving it a definite hot-rod style feel, satin black, white and red pinstriping, custom interior, but it's definitely a work in progress! Otherwise, I'm very much into my bikes, got a couple of honda shadows, one of which is about to be stripped to make an old school chop, the other is a fairly angry bobber ish style. Based in Norwich, I'll defo be interested in hearing if anyone else is in the Norfolk area too - especially Capri owners! Cheers!
