  1. Thanks for the answer but it means absolutely nothing to me. any chance of putting that into thick shit terms so I can understand exactly what you mean please.
  2. I have removed the tail cone from my type 9 ready to shorten the selector shaft and 3 little shim type pieces have dropped out. They are similar to a woodruff key but I don't think thats what they are, Where have they come from please.
  3. Thanks 'Zefect' have you any more pics of the engine bay in your superb looking motor. I want to see how people have got over the little problem of resiting the master cylinder. As I am using the injection intake there's not a lot of room.
  4. Anyone on here shortened a type 9 gearbox shifter or know anyone that has. I need mine shortening and know it can be done but can't find the right person for the job.
  5. Well thats what I was told from where the engine and sump etc came from. It was bought as a bolt together 'kit' if you like but it just doesn't do what was said. None of the bolt holes line up.
  6. I have been told that a sierra 1800 sump will fit straight on to my 1800 escort zetec motor. Unfortunately it doesn't as none of the bolt holes line up. Have I been missinformed or do I have the wrong sump please?
  7. Tom has decided that the 1300 crossflow in his 100E doesn't cut the mustard and has bought an L reg escort cabriolet with a 130bhp 1800 zetec as a donor car. Which part of the wiring do we need to keep? I'm fairly confident that it hasn't got the coded key and all that guff so I think it's just the engine side of things I need to get wired up. Thanks in advance.
  8. Tom has decided that he wants to redo the front suspension on his 100E. He has opted for new crossmember and struts to incorporate a rack as opposed to the box thats on there. We have changed to 107e crossmember and classic struts but he wants to improve it further. We've been told to go for 2.8 capri struts but I'm wondering why. He wants to buy adjustable ones so does it matter whether they are escort, capri, 2.8 capri or whatever. Are adjustables not all the same for ford fitting?
  9. Ok thanks. That might slightly piss on the matches for a few weeks then as it will need a complete restart on the front end.
  10. I am thinking of converting the front of my 100e to escort suspension. It is ford classic struts etc at the moment. I can't remember whether the steering rack from an escort is in front or behind the crossmember though. Anyone help please.
  11. Hi all old ford revivalists. I have been modifying a 1958 ford 100e for a few years now for my son to terrorise the neighbourhood with. It has now passed its mot and been on the road a few months. It is powered by a 1300 crossflow and 4 speed purely for insurance reasons. Surprisingly all of my sons 'maxpower type' mates abso;utely love it as we do. Hopefully it will be around and about for you all to see.
