Thanks alot, it comes up really nice, only selling it because I can get insured on my dads Model A now -
1966 Airflow 2 door MK1 Fleet model Cortina Very presentable car, inner wings and strut tops are original and mint unlike most, supposedly an Australian import brought in a few years ago so very solid, its the rare fleet model with the steel grill (not so common over here!) and has both the opening rear windows and opening 1/4 lights, painted lotus colours, supposedly a 1660 (Can't prove this) X-flow running a matching pair of twin 40's which could do with setting up, 1500GT 4 speed gearbox with the remote shifter, as fitted to the lotus and GT's. Gt front struts with disk brakes, 7x13 JBW Super-lite replica wheels, standard rear axle, GT clocks fitted but not all wired up, MK2 1600e steering wheel, washer bottle and battery moved to the boot, fitted with modern stereo + CD player with an old looking fascia. Rip to the top of the drivers seat (shown in pictures) receipts for near enough £1000 within the last year, few spare parts to go with it, 12 Months M.O.T and free tax of course! The last picture shows the rear spare wheel well which is solid and hasn't been welded, its not a patch (which it looks like on the picture) but is the matting stuff fitted to the boot. SOLD!! Call Billy on 0161 797 5395 or 07783404073

Hi and thanks RossMK2 it's stupid isn't it I sold the Escort and got a diesel Fiat 500 sport and it was £4950 to insure with flux, my insurance runs out in February so i will be looking around for quotes then, so i hope i find someone to insure me on an OSF, but it doesn't look promising

Thanks D-FENS, the '39 was a nice car but it hardly got used because we bought the El Camino, so there was no point us having two. That's another reason why we sold up, and now my dad just has the '28 RPU Thanks silverstreak Thanks welshmike i will give them a try when my renewal is up , I'm insured with flux on the modern car i have now and thanks
-
Thanks banarama and thanks 5tox
-
Thanks PCOE Yeah we no longer have the pink '59 El Camino its now up for sale again, ridiculously over priced by the person we sold it too The '39 Ford coupe in the picture is also gone and so is the 1966 Airstream safari. My dad doesn't like keeping stuff for too long, he wakes up one morning fancying a change and puts the lot up for sale and starts again. Here's the Elky and the Airstream We did the inside of the Airstream up, Red tuck 'N roll leather and cheqeured floor The old '39

Hi Escort Mk1 4 Door, what company was this with ? all i got was either we won't insure your car as its over 20 years old or we will insure your car but you have to be 21 then i actually got two quotes, one of £7000 and odd and one of £9000 and odd this was for a totally standard 1100 deluxe two door on limited mileage
-
Thanks a lot lotusless I will try and post some more photo's in there when i get them off the camera

Thank you banarama, love the escort in your picture

Hi, My names Billy, I have recently become an apprentice sheet metal worker/welder/fabricator/fitter. I have grown up around Hot Rods because of my dad and it was inevitable i would catch the bug, I've been going to Hot Rod shows since i was born in a large variety of rods/yanks as my dad has a habit of swapping and changing . Growing up, i had two tot rods, a black 'n flamed '34 Ford and a black 'n flamed Ford Model A tot rod with a removable roof. My current project is a 1938 Willys coupe, well a f/g '41 body with a f/g '38 front, with a 100 x 50 box chassis and Robinson CDS cage. Wisbech IFS, Chrysler 8 3/4 rear axle with Moser shafts and a Hauser 4 link setup. I have put a 4.6 Rover V8 and 4 speed auto box in it because i am aiming to finish it for when I'm 21 and i will be able to insure it with this motor in ( I will have to get my butt in gear...) The reason I'm on this site is because i also have a love for Old Skool Fords, i bought a bog standard Mk1 1100 deluxe two door escort for when i passed my test at 17, but when i passed i found out i couldn't insure it, my cheapest quote being £7000 so i had to sell it and get a eurobox. I'm now 18 and coming upto 12 months on the road (in February) and still hoping i will be able to insure an Escort in the future (im going to ring around once i have my 12 months NCB). I would also like to get insured on my dads hot rod too, so i think i need to win the lottery But if anyone knows of any insurance companies that i would have a chance with, I'd be very grateful. My dad currently owns a steel 1928 Ford Model A roadster pickup fitted with a 2 litre DOHC motor out of a sierra backed up with an MT-75 5 speed box. That's about it to be honest My old tot rod My Willys Coupe
