Hiya... I drive a Mk3 Cortina (1971) which I've owned since 2001, and also have a Mk1 Transit van (1968) which has been with the restorers for the last 4 years (not getting restored very quickly, obviously). I've also just bought a Mk1 Escort because I miss having one - the family just didn't feel complete! She does need a bit of TLC to get her on the road though, and I'm hoping to get some advice on here. Like, if I want to fit a 5-speed box, does it need to be a Type 9 (like the one that's in my Cortina), or is there a better solution? I was really interested to read the thread on rear window rubbers - I too have a leaky rear window! :D..... :/ ...and now I know what to do! I've also joined in the hope of actually meeting some other Ford nuts in my local(ish) area. It would be great to meet up for a drink and a chat sometimes, not just at the shows. The winter is so boring... So please talk to me - I'm a bit mad but quite nice. Lizzy
