andygfc Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 I need to get an engineers report on my car for the insurance company, so where do I go to get one ? Can someone please advise me, thanks.
Stu_B Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 I think so, I guess it depends on the level of work you've had done, if you just need a report for insurance or something, then I'm pretty sure a garage can do it.
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 M8 my insurance company asked for one of them ages ago, i took my car to a old hi-q PTA place and had a word with them, they wrote out a 'report' on headed paper saying that the work had been carried out to a high standard and in their opinion was sructually safe and ok to use on the public highway! All i did was put a 1600 in a golf that had a 1.1! So any motor engineering place should be able to sort for ya! Dunno about kwik fit though
john_3.0s Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 find some back-street polish place - slip them 20 sheets, job done Oh and get them to write it in polish too. In all serciousness what have you done to the car? prob best to get a registered MoT tester to do it as a mehcanic may have had absolutly no training whatsoever
andygfc Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 Polish place sounds good as there is one not far from me In all seriousness an mot station will probably be my best bet I suppose. Thanks for advice guys.
james p Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 tell the insurance it was done years ago and has been throu mots since
