Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Well folks, it's judgment day for the Angle Grinder. Had my battery on charge since early this morning, so I thought I would check the bit's on my new engine. I noticed last night that I was struggling to get oil pressure, so this morning, I whipped the oil pump out and did what I should of done yesterday... prime it up That done, I connected the battery and tried again. Woooohoooo, I have oil pressure. Next was to check the fuel... hhhhmmmmm, not pumping. Took the fuel pump out, gave it a quick clean and test, put it in and nothing. Sucked on my pipe (Ooohh er), and got a mouthfull of Unleaded. Right, got oil, got fuel. So I check spark, woooohooo, I have that. Final job was to put some new plugs in and fire it up. I have some good news... she is trying to fire into life. The new lump is kicking, but there is just not enough for it to run. So, I have come indoors for a drink while the battery is being topped up, and in a while, I will pop out there with a bit of easy start to see if it will go. I have a feeling it isn't getting enough fuel, so I will have to fiddle. When it fires into life, I think I will have a go at putting a video up if you are all interested???
Dalek Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 I didn't think you had to prime a xflow oil pump, what did you do ? Pop a bit of vaselene in it ? Cheers Craig
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted May 2, 2007 Author Report Posted May 2, 2007 Daggle... Unfortunatley I havn't found my main keys, but I did find my spares! Dalek... All I did was, fill the filter, screw it on and turn the whole lot upside down. Whilst upside down, I just span the gear round untill it pumped through. It actually took a little while to come through.
Burns Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 nice one jimmybob, if the batteries playing about, bump it maybe? good luck
