*******STOLEN TRIUMPH VITESSE UPDATE CAR FOUND!*****
Jimbob-Squarepants © replied to Noodles's topic in CHIT CHAT
Hi peeps, long time no see. I thought it was only right for me to post my thanks for everyones help. Where do I start? Jo, I will give you a ring tomorrow (was in shower when you called). Thanks for phoning round this morning Wayne... was it you I called before I left? I was all over the place and didn't realise Thanks to you & Big Rod John & Dave... I'm sorry you had that grief from the Police. I appreciated you hanging around for a bit, then popping back to check up The mystery of the Silver Volvo has been cleared up. They were a couple of lads from a firm round the corner that my mate picks up from, they were popping out every now and then to keep an eye on the car. This is where the story now gets interesting... While I was sitting in my car just after John & Dave left, 3 geezers walked past the front of my car having a look. I thought "something isn't right here", and my fears were confirmed.... They had come back for the Triumph. 2 stood round the back of the car, while the other one opened the door and sort of half climed in. I was straight back on the blower to the law, and whilst speaking to the operator, they suddenly disappeared I noticed 2 other blokes walking about (one had a pushbike), and they too had just disappeared. After phoning the Police, I rang my mate back to say that the theives had been back and we HAD to move the car. Anyway, he rang that firm round the corner and the lads came round in a Focus &... the Silver Volvo lol. We opened the car and pushed it out of the space & to my horror, we were being watched. All 5 of those blokes were hiding in some bushes watching us... they were less that 15 foot away. They must've dived in there waiting for me to disappear... No chance! We hooked the Triumph up with a rope and just before we left, those 5 blokes just got up and mooched off. I was told that about 10 mins after my call to the Police, the Police helicopter was circling the car park... I hope they found them When we got the car back to the firm, I re-wired the ignition barrel and it fired into life. Unfortunately the engine is running rough, the gearbox is blown, the clutch has had it, the prop is buggered, the diff is well and truely knackered and the exhaust is bent So on behalf of 'me mate Dave' and myself, a massive thank you to all who played a part in the recovery of the Triumph. There are now a handfull of extremeley happy people due to your actions. We didn't think we would ever see it again! Thanks once again -

Racial? I don't think so. As you say, area's are different, i'm just explaining what it's like around my area & surrounding area's. My main point was that any crime that is committed now is cowardly e.g. robbing the elderly, putting false fronts on cash machines & stealing identities through whatever means (raiding bins, breaking into Wi-Fi networks etc.) Yes I accept that absolutley anyone can use these methods to commit a crime. As for the my original post where you seem to think I was saying camera's are to blame... thats not what I said at all. I said that having camera's put up to "supposedly" protect us and help prevent crime, is a case of getting out of actually getting together and using brains to work out why things have got as bad as they have. In other words, no issues are addressed as to why crime is committed and who maybe committing it, it's a case of "ah I think we should have camera's put up as it seems to be a crime hot-spot." Oh let's not get started on just how many aren't even switched on. On a final note, 20 years ago, did you have kids taking other peoples lives by using a knife? Goes back to my original point of "Cowardly". When I grew up, people used their fists if they got into a fight, & you rarely had to worry about someone pulling out a blade or even a gun. But as I have already said, there is nothing done to sort out why this shit happens, the authorities just use it as an excuse to put camera's up. BTW, a keyboard war is not my intention mate, just trying to explain my oppinion.

a few years... to the tv image of the 50's? sorry mate, that is bull shit... this country is just as violent as ever! my dad tells me about back in the day (the sixties i think) mods and rockers used to meet up in petersfield every weekend with all manner of weapons from bike chains and pool cues to crickt bats and golf clubs and knock the shit out of each other! and what about the footbal hooligans of the 80's/90's... rose tinted glasses my friend! Nope not rose tinted mate. You have described violence as a whole between a group or groups of people. Yes I remember the football violence which is why I never got into football. Mod's & Rockers... well even though i'm not old enough to have been there, I know about it. You can even go back to gangs like the Kray's, but my point is this... it was never aimed at people who can't defend themselves, peoples bank accounts etc. etc. The crime these days is commetted by mainly immigrants who see fit to rob any law abiding citizen anyway they want to. Crime back then was committed by big organised gangs who targeted banks and businesses & not the little old lady walking down the street... that is my point.

To be honest, while I have no objection to being watched on camera, I feel it is just another way of brushing things under the carpet... something our useless government is very good at doing. Go back a few years, there wasn't as much crime as there is now, old people could walk down the street without worrying if they are going to get beaten to a pulp for their pension, etc. etc. Why has this world or more specifically, this country, come to this??? Why have I got to pay out for CCTV systems to watch over my cars when they are on private property and nowhere near a public road??? Simple, to many fecking lay abouts who are either immigrants sponging money out of the country, or it's junkie low life scum who would rather spend their whole life making other peoples lives a misery by robbing them. It's always the working man (or doris) who will be dumped on by the government & stolen from by the lay abouts, which the normal person is paying for hand over fist. So, let's not worry about all that, lets not spend all this time and money getting to the root of the problem, lets spend a bit of dosh and bang some cameras up to watch everyone. The genuine people will feel safer because they think it's to keep them safe, but we will use it to watch someone drop a crisp packet so we can fine them. I have lost my faith in humanity now & hate this country. We are found in favour if the guilty in the courts, you're guilty till proven innocent, and you are left having nightmares of the one night you were held prisoner and robbed in a strangers house 10 years ago, while the scum that did it still walks the streets. Still it's no use moaning about it, what can I do? I would be locked up for defending myself, family or my property.

I saw your stand fella's & got your flyer. I was going to stop in and say hi, but truth be told, I had the fecking pr*ck ache with the Pageant this year. Two rows of autojumble and not a single part for any of my cars So I went back to my car in the one make parking and sulked for a few hours
