  1. Honestly mate my eyes were out on stalks ! 🤣😂
  2. So I went to buy some switches for my escort off this bloke advertising fairly locally. switches were grand payed the asking price, he hasn’t had a Old Ford since the early 90s he said “ I wouldn’t let another darken my door step rot boxs !” And I spot in his garage on multiple shelves 11 yes 11 mk1 escort twin cam dials every one reads 140. I asked if any were for sale he said no I’m keeping ahold of them…. 🙈 Why? I was baffled Ive never been so confused, what does anyone need or want with 11 sets of dials that has no intention of buying another Old Ford. And won’t sell them ? Help my heads fried 🤣😂
  3. Malta 🇲🇹
  4. Although mine is now mot exempt and on all checks says so, for peace of mind I still will get it checked. Few of the garages round my way offer pre mot checks still so always that option as well.
  5. I ran a short inlet from Burtons if I recall correct it cleared the servo.
  6. I think maybe Magpie brain kicked in and I seen shiny Gaz coilovers and thought they would be nice on my car. Perhaps best I just spruce up the existing setup as it works fine. Thank you for bringing me back to sane thought!
  7. Hi folks, I have been looking at the Gaz long and short coilovers ( I’m not rich I got back dated pay ) and was looking at upgrading the suspension on my car (Mk1 Escort road car ) From DIY coilovers (modified 2.8 billies )to something like Gaz. Would I be better off with the long struts or short ones ? Car is never going rallying or circuit racing however the odd track day and twisty roads round my way. Thank you in advance.
  8. Mate don’t give up hope. I had not a clue either, I just bumble along trying to learn as I go. I’m a complete novice not a clue…On the maiden voyage I expect to fall apart before I get off the driveway 😂😂
  9. I really hope not these are the core of the scene and help novices like myself no end.
  10. Yeah it’s definitely original factory welds holding the rear quarters on it most definitely hasn’t ever been a for door. The front pans have definitely been replaced as has the tunnel. Look to be out of an auto but that’s the only stuff I’ve seen having had a really good poke about the shell.
  11. Unfortunately not just a bill of sale and what’s on the Vin. Hence I think I may have gave myself a real headache
  12. Yeah a friend of mine once so helpfully said “You know for what you have spent on Old Ford’s you could have a nice new car.. Or even a decent Aston Martin “ (frankly I doubt the Aston part). Funnily enough I don’t speak to him now. It’s at a stage now like you I don’t keep a count of what’s spent. I just keep putting some money to one side in a savings account for stuff as and when required. It softens the blows that way.
  13. Oh have I opened up a tin of worms oh no that’s what happens when you poke about at Old Ford’s 😂
  14. Possibly a four wheeled version of an English electric lighting I mean it has about the same amount of gauges and switches 😂
  15. It makes me sad, the prices of these now, prohibiting real genuine enthusiasts from owning one. Not people who buy them shove them in a garage and wait for them to be worth 100k it’s prohibited genuine enthusiasts from acquiring one. I thought all these “new shells” would have taken the prices down a bit but quite the opposite it appears. occasionally you can bag a bargain but it’s usually a headache as I’ve found out.
