I thought I'd put this up to show how I did my comp 20 entry. I wanted to do a hot rod style 2CV but it didn't come out as planned, and looks a little too much like a plymouth prowler. So just to prove I didn't cut n paste one over the top of the 2CV, here it is broken down.

It might also give some of you ideas to do your own entries.

Step 1.

First step is always make a copy of the picture, then cut out the background, glass etc, until there is only bodywork left. You can then change the colour. I had decided early on that I wanted to do a hot rod style 2cv, so I lopped the roof off and turned it yellow.

Step 2.

I wanted to put some flame on, so I hunted around and found a decent picture and luckily found this. Yellow too :-)

I carefully cut round them, resized and transformed them, then carefully positioned them on the bonnet and side.

Step 3.

To find the front end of a hot rod. I wanted to keep the bonnet and remove the wings and have the wheels sticking out. Then I stumbled across the prowler picture. (Yellow too!)

So I chopped the front off and put it on the 2cv. It's not cheating as that's what you do when you add different wheels to cars.

Then put the bonnet flames back.

I kindof wished I'd left it as a saloon but it would mean re-doing the paintwork.

Step 4.

I lopped the roof off by cutting and pasting the background, and also stretched it a bit.

Step 5.

Add the rear alloy and arch. You can still see the original 2cv wheels and part of the rear arch so the next step....

Step 6.

Was to stretch the grass upwards and underneath the prolwler to hide the 2cv wheels. I also did various other bits of tweaking to hide other parts of the car that were showing.

Step 7.

Next I cut off the prowlers windscreen and put it on the 2cv. I had tried to modify the 2cvs screen but it didn't turn out well.

So there you have it.
