MK2Ed Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 My new gearbox has been leaking oil from the speedo outlet for a while now and despite asking the supplier/manufacturer to sort it they have been dragging their heels big time (this also in spite of the large amount of money spent on this bit of kit and being a reasonable customer). In the end I’d had enough and did some research re the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and discovered that with faulty goods they are obliged to: - provide a repair or replacement - meet any extra costs incurred - do the work in a reasonable time frame as agreed between both parties I wouldn’t have outlined this to them if they hadn’t mugged me off and played a stalling game and now they are repairing it for me today. I am so glad to have it done. The Act is worth bearing in mind if you get any unreasonable bollox with faulty parts received…
Pipster007 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 It's amazing what happens when you start quoting consumer laws
over_head_cam Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 It's a shame when you have to mention the SOGA or other consumer laws, but it's allways god to know they are there
