My daily driver is a Rover 600 TDi with 251,000 miles on the clock :P

The handbrake got worse and worse until it was as much use as a chocolate teapot, so Mummy Burns took it to a garage near her work to get it sorted. 'It's the calipers madam, they are seized, we will renew them'. Which they did. nearly four hundred quid later, we have a Rover with new rear brake calipers.

And the handbrake was still crap :(

So it went back. Still crap

So it went back, still crap.

So it went back, garage boss checked it, and yanked it on so hard it went bang. They said a clip had come off the cable, and the handbrake now worked. Admittedly it was better, but was still not good IMHO.

All this was about 6 weeks ago.

Took it back to them for the MOT and it failed on a brake light, CV boot and...

yes you've guessed it, handbrake efficiency!! They are going to sort it free of charge, I should think so too!!

I know Pip, the car only cost me £150!!

The saga continues,

Mummy Burns went to collect the car, and now the brake lights don't work. 'Weren't us, we haven't touched them'.

Eventually brake lights work, and car has to go back AGAIN tomorrow, because...

the handbrake still does not work

They say they are going to replace the calipers under warranty...

I wonder if they will ever get it sorted?...
