Got to get some rear seat belts for my newly aquired mk5 tina, my other half says go to a breakers yard, but i've always been told never get secondhand ones, always get new ones for safety sake,

Can anyone help me out :?:

Mate just get some good second hand ones :D ,just because they have come out of another car does'nt mean they are no good,my seatbelts are 30 years old and still pass the mot and are perfectly safe

second hand doesnt mean its unsafe.

the ones in my escort were locking up too early so i bought some good quality second hand ones.

apssed the MOT perfectly.

as long as the rachet action works fine and the belt isnt torn or damaged then they will be fine.

seatbelts deform during accident, they go longer catching your body. it works only first time, after that they look still good but are useless. thats why unknown secondhand belts should not be used
