13x7 Fitting Mk1 Escort

I'm looking to 1/4mile the Escort and maybe enter the OSFDC but im looking for some advice.

 

Would 13x7 fit on the rear of a Mk1 Escort that has normal arches and has been lowered by 2"?? These would only be fitted for the 1/4mile and normal 6" for road use. Will the 1" make any diffrence?, these 7" would also be slicks.

 

Any help would be great.

You probably won't get drag slicks on a 7 inch wheel under standard arches as the profile is too high so they wrinkle on take off . Put slicks on 6 inch rims and use the 7's for normal road use with a 50 series tyre etc . Most of the boys use 6 inch rims + slicks with no probs and get the wheels off the ground

Would it be possible to lip/roll the arches ever so slightly so they would fit?

If not what about 6.5" then? I just really want the rear to have a wide looking stance lol.

They won't fit on a 7 inch , i can't even get a 185/60/13 on mine and slicks are even more of a baloon
