ijdavie Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 I have had a ford capri for about 7 months or so and i am looking to get the body of the car restored however i am not sure the best way to do it any ideas anyone ? ? ? ? ? the car runs however no MOT or road tax does any one know a gd body work garage near Edinburgh or just out side edinburgh
ijdavie Posted August 31, 2007 Author Report Posted August 31, 2007 nothing massive mostly the front wings are needing replaced and the paint work is needing a gd paintin there is a few bits of rust here and there nothing big but i would like it fixed but not sure if it is worth going to hole way and getting the car completely striped ? cheers Ian
Daveyboy20 Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Could you change the wings yourself and then find a good paint sprayer? Save you money i'd expect - Im going to be doing the wings on mine at some point in the future shame theyre spot welded though and not bolted on
ijdavie Posted August 31, 2007 Author Report Posted August 31, 2007 was thinkin about that mines the same no bolts bit of a kick in the a** where i dont mind spending money to get it minted. where getting the wings off and striping the car i was planin on doing myself there is a few bits of rust that if it get worse could lead to problems which is why i was planin on getting it sand blasted and painted so it is done well ?
c1arke Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 you dont want to sand blast it am sure it warps the panels and you dont want that on the rear 1/4 if ur going 2 strip the hole car u could "dip" it
