Its a scene tax ! I fully understand people that make a living from it and providing a service as the scene would be dead without it , but its fact the days of going to a breaker tearing an engine out and slinging it in your car for £30 are over . There is nothing cheap in this country and it will never change . That's why this one im building will be a keeper .

yeah loved it in a two hour visit kinda way loads of great cars and some impossibly straight motors being unveiled stand looked great and nice talking to some of the lads .... Colin ill be in touch.

Its a 2.0s 1978 on an S so a very late one with silver grey cadiz interior so it all god , however it does have several bills of sale from second hand car sales garages selling as a JPS . The confusing thing for me is that it does have a black headlining and the extra black vin plate on the slam ? Parts bin special maybe i thought all JPS were on P plates ? In my mind its just an S albiet a pretty rare unmolested original condition find ...... nowadays .

LOL ! sorry to dissapoint but i have a car which i am breaking for the parts i need for the S and my mate a mechanic is now busy re-commisioning the car. its only been standing a year so shouldnt be much . my green and very rotten and soon to be dead snotter ! short term is to fit some 40s , it has a janspeed exhaust and trick cam , fit new carpets and make it a better place to be inside (still has Cadiz seats etc ) fit a new clutch , top to tail check and some compomotive cx on toyos diamond cut and gold then leave the car to its faded glory . On the road end of July . next year ill be painting it Onyx green see below and i have a very special engine install planned and already bought ! so these are the two photos that will influence the new build Onyx green S eventually for next summer , NOW I DONT HAVE A WHINGING WIFE TO BERATE ME ILL BE KEEPING THIS ONE

dammit blown the seals in the auto box ! pinto 2.0s capri anyone have a spare one that i could get fer nowt to get me going anywherein scotlandshier ! north east /west i am negotiating parts for a manual conversion but i need to have this running to get to work in 9 days time /. anyone able to help?

Autobox filled with wrong fluid so it slips like a bastard so if anyone has a towing bar i could borrow before friday so i can get it to the garage and get the box flushed and the correct fluid filled that would be great . I will 5 speed it in time( busy collecting bits) but just need something to drive till i fix my clk also broken dammitt .. cheers Steve

so flew down to stanstead at silly o'clock saturday and arrived at a baltic and aptly named Grays ! Where i was promptly met by Scott and whisked off to his Mums to look the Capri S over and after a spin around the block the deal was done :banana: However my Scottish moody Money needed verifictaion so off to the bank we go for the bank teller to get confused how much the notes were worth .......... IM FROM SCOTLAND not some Kazicstani place anyway hey ho ! So back to the car and a quick once over and its very clean and straight few bits but very low milage and as per the adverts so i was very happy , Scott being the good man he is had given it his proffesional once over being a RAC guy its all good . Drove down to Ashford Kent no problemo then drove to watford gap services and got my head down as it was late evening next morning no dramas filled up and off to Scotland/ car performed flawlessly averaging 80mph so its all cool . Hit Glasgow and traffic and then it starts gearbox slipping in and out of gear no drive and a very unhappy driver . :wtf1: However the car is super straight and the engine is very tight so im over the moon / not sure about the colour but i love it already and driving up thinking of what mods i could do quickly and cheaply ex wife will make sure of that ! So i have to thank Scott for the deal and lookinmg after the car while he had it and checking all the fluids etc before i left . Cheers mate Ill look after her for you for sure .
