I think you can use any of the heads. The standard turbo cams are useless though with n/a applications. A little porting work is a good idea too. You will also need to have your pistons pocketed to clear the valves.

I think i theres a n/a head on ebay this week...

to use a cos head for an aspirated aplication the head must be revised, compression,porting & cams. :thumbsup:
as above lots of head work atmo pistons different cams and lifters. you need to get the compression up to 10.5.1 or more mine at 13.5.1 and needs 24 volts to start it :thumbsup:

Why do modern diesel cars only need a normal 12 volt battery to turn them over when they have compression ratios of around 19:1? :?

 

I'm sure you could get a 12-volt hi-torque starter for yours couldn't you?

because when the engine is on compression stroke its the injecter that ignites the power stroke when it injectes the diesel, on a petrol hi compressoin engine, the starter takes curent from the batery & the plug remains whit less curent mate :thumbsup:

as above and £175 for a starter that packs up on a regular basis no thanks two battries in the boot 15 year old plus capri starter no probs. two batts over the rear wheels helps with what traction i do get :thumbsup:
