seam sealer question

dumb arse question but never used it before....is it best to put seam sealer on bare/treated metal or on primer or does it not matter ??

I always primer first, if its on the body work then i have not found it to make any odds, but use a good brand.

I find it best to use a thin coat of zinc based primer first,also dont overpaint the sealer until it has dried properly(especially with lesser brands)as it will shrink slightly and crack the paint.

I have used grey stripe seam sealer for years never had a problem with it,probably alot better stuff out there but it works and its resonably cheap .and personally i prime first too
