old skool freestyler Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 right dont laugh but i have lost my keys today and they have long gone i think, so i need a new ignition barrel or will any other ford keys fit? and what can i do with the boot lock as thats a different key petrol cap i can sort ill get another lol so whos got some bits they can sell me to help me out (oh i know im a plank aswell lol )
nitrousnutter Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 well mister plank, why dont you take the doorlock out and the ignition (if different) and get a new key cut from a locksmith? or is the car locked? if so so can wobble a worn key thats similar in the locks and it'll open, not that im an ex car thief or anything, just got stuck the same a few years back with my cortina, thought the keys were in my boot so had to get in lol hope u get it sorted tho mate

ann_capri Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 dwaine lee said put a screwdicer in ware the key go's and dig it out that way you can remove the key part leaving outercaseing in place,and just change the barrel,once you broke throught the top part it's easy he said,he said he's got a barrel and key in the shed he will have a look tomorow and see might have door lock's as well

bortaf Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Take the passemger lock out (if the same as ign) a locksmith will take it appart and read the numbers on the tumblers to get the new key code Failing that if you can't jiggle it with another ford key to get the ign to the radio position (which is where it needs to be to be removed) then you must have THE only ignition that works in the country

lee_capri Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 y dont you try getting a key cut mate u never no but that would be just my luck that it would be wroung,lost the key's to the land rover not thinking but their was two keys on the ring took the door lock out went down their and yes it unlocked it and locked it up but could'nt start it though brought new barrel in the end
