Tuffty Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 thats defo an eco tec bmx dave tho dont worry the bottom end is identical to a red top all ya need is a bust red top with a good head inlet manifold wiring loom ect and swap them over later eco tecs are 2 peice sumps and they are slightly different I prity sure that the ecotec blocks have extra webbing on them which in theory should make them stronger as well. another option if you can't find a c20xe is to use the c16xe out of a corsa Gsi. I know this is only a 1.6, but it was heavily worked on by coswoth and then heavily restricted by vauxhall using an inlet manifold which is almost a metre long! these engines love to rev, weigh less then a 2.0 and with a set of throttle bodies and cams can easily see 170+ bhp
flatout Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 if you really want to know about xe's try www.vauxsport.com the best performance related vauxhall site on the net. what they dont know about vauxhall engines isnt worth knowing
Mrp Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 My daily driver is a Mk3 astra gsi and has knocked up 183000 miles and doesnt use a drop of oil and pulls like a train..
