martymk1 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 its getting bad, when the price one goes up quicker than the litre's
ALL4SHOW Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 even diesel is the same now might aswell drop down to a 1.4 petrol escort/orion as the family car & save on the tax
DEP Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Its ridiculous , In a way i m kinda glad the show season is over, Its getting sooo expensive to take the car out.
Instain Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 lol i dunno bout where any of you live but the major super markets round here have kept the price under the £1 normal unleaded is 95.9 super is 97.9 as is diesel and lrp where sold im boycoting bp n all the others while there price is over the pound maybee an idea if you can find a super markwet with the lower prices as thats 11p a liter difference
X FLOW EDDY Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Being a diesel fitter by trade i am starting to notice a lot of old diesel cars running on cooking oil or parrafin due to the sky high price of diesel, you can smell them a mile off !! The bloke next door has ran his diesel orion on cooking oil for long enough and even that has gone up in price ! The tesco's at grimsby put 22p on a 3L bottle of rapesead oil this weekend takeing it to £2.21. They must have cottend on to the fact that they were selling a hell of a lot more cooking oil since the price of fuel went thro the roof !!!!
escortmad79 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Unleaded down here in some garages is 99.9p & 101.9p!
antz Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Unleaded down here in some garages is 99.9p & 101.9p! same up here! in coventry its only 95.9 at asda so i filled the volvo to the brim cos it wont be getting any for a while!
Burns Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 it's between 97.9 and 99.9 around here, it's crap when you drive for a living
sab6024 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 It's not too bad around here. Shell is still under £1 but I'm running LPG at the moment. 47.9 per litre but even that's shooting up in price. I'm waiting for the day my boss pays me mileage that pays for the fuel going in. I'll go back to petrol and Pudge can have the 4x4 back
texr2000 Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 The thing is if its 1.09 now what will it be in months to come?!!?? it can only go up in price!!

MK II Mark Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 ehh i remember when it was 50pa "gallon" + you could buy a house for 100 quid + we used to eat lard sarnies + if we were lucky dad would come home + only half beat us to death ahh those were the days. My dad couldn't afford to beat us... But as a special treat for Christmas when we worked a half day down the mine instead of the normal 25 hour shift he used to thrash us with a broken bottle, but thats only if we were good... Happy times...
duchy boy Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 It's getting stupid The French would'nt put up with this.Tesco have got it sown up in our area and they charge what they want I only need to travel about 10 miles and its 4 pence a litre cheaper than Tesco. These prices keep rising then it will cost me £150 to go Classic Ford Show
Muttley MK2 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 Well listen to this. I dont think I'm that old but when I put petrol in my first ford (1970 mk1 escy van) in 1975 it cost 22.5 pence a GALLON. Can you believe that!!!! I remember a headline in the eighties remarking that fuel would reach a POUND a gallon by christmas. People were up in arms. Now we all take the Five Pound Gallon sitting down WTF is going on!!!!
