AA badges

ive got an aa badge like the one on the front of posse's van but the insert on mine is red but it looks like it has been sprayed that colour over the yellow (from new ) but the only one ive seen was on e-bay & it was at £50 start as its rare (heard that before ) but it said its an armed forces badge of the land rovers ??? & i know some of you are into these so wondered if anyone can tell me more are they worth that ? are they really rare ? cheers

i have a square AA badge and a national trust one. came with the car. first thign i did was take them off!

i thought that aswell but can only find a number on the front ( guessing its the member/issue number ) but like i said ive seen a few in yellow fetching good money (sometimes silly ) but ive only seen 1 on ebay in red with a £50 starting bid (forgot to watch it ) might have to do some detective work on it as i might know of another

Found this on a site about AA badges,

 

In 1911, an industrial vehicle badge was designed, a brass hexagonal design with red painted background. It may not actually have been issued until 1922. The early 1930's saw it redesigned in chrome with a basket weave background, and issued in large and small versions in this style right up until 1966.
