here is a photo of my dad fitting a 1600 xflow into the car wen he was 18 years old.....

feels kinda strange driving my nans old car after so many years of it been sold..

started work on the sport today.. ive stripped the inside of the car because the carpet was wet and chisseled off the soundproofing on the gearbox tunnel and put the first coat of paint on it then ive started masking out for the seamseal on previouse weld plates and going to re seal the gearbox tunel.

removed all the mirrors and wipers and anything else that had faded and started preping them for spraying. ive also sprayed the rusty old fuel tank make it look a bit nicer

 

so far so good no rott on the floor

the floor pans have been stoneguarded so its quite a rough texture so im going to paint the footwels with a roller and gloss hamerite then il put car mats down but no carpet so the gearbox tunnel can be seen for the stripped out look.

 

 

also ordered 220lbs -2" springs and 2" blocks from rally design to make it sit just rite

done a bit more work today tigersealed the weldds and joins on the floor last sunday. and today i painted the floor ready for seats to go back in and carpet in the footwels so the gearbox and propshaft tunnel is still visable looks alrite i think also found a cast ford emblem in the ashtray and i painted it up and sealed it too the tunnel just to finish it off

 

i used hamerite gloss white on a roller for the footwels and hamerite smooth gloss white from a rattlecan for the tunnel. (looks like diamond white anyway plus hamerite is nice n thick)

 

 

 

 

gonna fit the inside back up tomorow.

here you go i dunno what fabric it is but i know its different to other escorts either way they are knakered anyways cant afford new seats yet so il have to make do with them ...

made a bit more progress lately ive lowered the whole car 2" with blocks on the back and 220lbs rally design lowering springs.

 

also bought poly race fitted TCAs from rally desing which il fit next week

 

 

bought 4 new tyres and fitted them to a set of lasers i got for christmas i think they look pretty good the tyres are falken 185/60/r13 cost me £160 put them on today wat u think???

 

 

 

 

 

also for christmas santa got me a new n/s front wing which i get fitted soon

 

 

this is the reason y i need one (previous owner hit a corsa)

 

 

 

 

rear bumper mirror feultank and wiper have been rubbed down and resprayed

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

fitted my quickshift kit today aswell i drilled a hole and put a big bolt through it this time so itl never fall off coz of all the trouble i had with my 4doors quickshift.

 

 

 

 

gave the whole underside a rubdown with a wire brush and re undersealed the car, didnt find any rott which was nice

 

 

 

 

 

just need to get wing fitted new vinal sunroof fitted , fit new rubbers all round and almost every panel could do with a repair of some sort then il get rid of all the rott and weld in new bits fit a plr exhaust and a mexico front spoiler take it to work for a full respray in diamond white and get a new set of sport coachlines, put the 1360 camed x-flow in it and i should be ready to get on the road gotta sell my 4-door though
