My daily is a Scooby 96. The bloody thing just over heated at the traffic lights in Plymouth. It could be the head gasket, i am not so sure. If so i have not a clue how much i am going to have to pay out. Last week was the MOT. I had an oil and filter change as well. TOTAL: £339!!

I know if you drive a car like a Scooby i know that i am going to have to put my hand in my pocket. Anyone got a Scooby? A rough price would make me sleep better tonight (or maybe not). I know if it depends on if the thing is warpped etc...any ideas folks???? :(

At least i have the Granny to rely on ay

Did it overheat suddenly or gradually, how bad, boiling over? Did it lose water? Could you hear the electric fan cutting in? Has it shown any other symptoms lately? Dont assume the worst till you have checked all the other posibilities

Been to the garage today to inform the mechanic what happened. Answer to you question it suddenly over heated. the guage went up then kicked out the water out of the over flow pipe. Maybe its a sticky thermostat? I am waiting for the phone call. He did mention some thing about the crank shaft being tits up. apparenty this is a common cause on a Scooby.
